Poll question: I am use to being let down by our party, are you (a poll for LIBERALS)
Being a liberal, I am often at odds with both parties. I am a Dem because they are closer to what I believe in then the GOP is. I am also pragmatic, so I do understand the reasoning behind voting for the lesser of two evils.

This poll is for other liberals.

Are you use to being let down by the Democratic Party?

I for one, could probably watch a Dem Senator praise the drug war or the Iraq war as huge successes, and I wouldn't even bat an eye. This sort of betrayal no longer boils my blood.

2. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt
because they are in the minority and unable to set the agenda. I hear alot of talk from them about stopping outsourcing, alternative energy and fairer taxes and economic policies . I hope when and if they get the majority back, these issues will be addressed. If they get back in the majority and fail to take action on middle class issues, THEN I will be extremely disappointed.

12. They had a mixed record in the 90's
NAFTA is a disaster but at least they are admitting that. Repugs still think it's the greatest thing in the world. Dems have a strong record of standing up for farm subsidies while R's want to see all family farms die and corporations take over. Most dems stand up against tax cuts for the rich, bankruptcy bill taking overtime away and a few other things. They at least act like outsourcing is bad. I wish they would get their heads out of their asses and say illegal immigration is generally bad for American workers. I think republicans just don't like illegal immigration because they are racist and classist. Are the Dems perfect? Of course not. Are they much better than the republicans, you bet your ass they are.

3. I am used to it, but if they don't try to move heaven and earth to
stop the torture bill, I'll be shocked and horrified.

This is worse than the Bankruptcy bill, etc. WAY WORSE!
