My CC was hacked last week. Check out these purchases -
BTW - this was a Bank of America Visa card. So keep your eyes on your statements if you have a B of A Visa, I guess.

There were only 2 plus the international transaction fees that you now pay anytime you purchase something in a foreign currency:

1.) Etihad Airways - GBP (means it was purchased in British Pounds) - $1296
2.) Etihad Airways - PKR (means it was purchased in Pakistani Rupees) - $796

They were purchased on the same day, 9/21

I checked out Etihad Airways - they call themselves "The National Airliine of the United Arab Emirates"

I've already reported the fraud but I can't help but imagine what sort of commerical Citibank would make with those kind of charges on them!

Hmmm.

And now I'm connected to you by virtue of this response... and others will read this... see you all in the Halliburton detention facility! I'll try to wear a read rose so you'll recognize me.

5. I know - I'm going to go through shite when I go back to the UK
But it makes me nervous that I found this out on the day they're talking about torture. I'll probably be on the rack when you get to the detention center. See you there! ;)

4. Well, you're going to be hauled away soon. Buying airline
tickets for the enemy and all. At least YOU'LL have some sense as to why you're being arrested. The rest of us won't have a clue and the government won't have to tell us! Can you tell I'm pissed?

7. I hope I'm OK. Eek!
I reported it. My husband's uncle also works for MI-5 (very handy) and we've told him about it. I thought it was a bit extreme to report it to him but in this day and age one can never take too many precautions. Hopefully he'll be able to find out something with the UK connection, I don't know.

8. Mine, too
Twice in just over a year. The last time, someone joined AmericanSingles.com Web site using my card and was a member for two months, two monthly charges, before I found out. Individual had my name, address, phone number, too, which Web site requires to join. AmericanSingles.com manager was very helpful at getting charges credited back to my account and canceling the fraudulent subscription. I mention manager specifically because operator who answered my call was not helpful, encouraging me to just "drop it" because it is too hard to investigate. I insisted on speaking to his manager and stayed on the line until manager was contacted and came on the line to speak with me. VISA through my credit Union also hopped on board. Just a pain having to get a new card and having to pay for it.
