21. Yeah, I know--I said' NO OBAMA, I notice'--but yesterday, there was
a "whip 'em into a frenzy" movement here to have everyone call Obama and whine about him wanting to vote FOR this piece of shit legislation.

It was a total waste of time and energy, and it was bullshit. I opined that people would be better off registering their anger with GOP senators, because at least there was no question which way they were gonna vote.

44. No, he had no intention of voting FOR torture--it was a waste of time
The time should have been spent calling and faxing GOP senators, and Dems who were ON THE BALLOT this year.

The activists can claim that they wasted everyone's time based on one report that had no additional verification.

But hey, it sure created a load of heat, and absolutely no light.

If they're up for reelection it makes it more of a fear factor. The smearing commercials, the snarky remarks.

We really need a few politicians who will stand up and say FUCK YOU, George.

34. Menendez up against Kean, Jr.
Doesn't have confidence enough to run on moral issues, so he runs on fear. Don't want to look weak on the WOT, so he manages to look really really feeble in standing up against bush.

If they can't protect us from the GOP, how can they protect us from the terrorists?

Rockefeller surprised me the most. :wtf:

Not for Grassley, but because the great Tom Harkin isn't on the list. The Honorable Senator Harkin hasn't forgotten that he represents the people of Iowa and will consider our voices. Grassley on the other hand...well, no big surprise there I suppose.

Just in shock. He had nothing to lose, he's not running again, he's just sitting in for the rest of Torricelli's term. I just don't get it.
Menendez I know less about. Something tells me this has to do with the Repukes putting it out there that NJ is in play in November. I really feel that NJ is going to be this election season's version of Florida and Ohio, close enough to steal. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

They must be proud of what they've done today.
Next time they come to you with their "values" bullshit, remind them that they are approved torture, and made certain forms of rape legal. Oh yes, and they wiped their asses with Habeas Corpus, in place since the 1200s.

Did I mention Holy Joe is a piece of shit hypocrite?

31. Nice list. I hope these people travel outside the country soon.
They won't have the protection we give our "president". Wonder what kind indictments we can anticipate, for a war crime abetter? What's the penalty for that I wonder. Is a war crime abetter/cover upper subject to the same prosecution as the actual war criminal? I know collaborators were tried after WWII.
Just how soon can we expect to see these people in The Hague?

45. It's fear factor--most of the chickenshits are on the ballot this year
They were AFRAID of a commercial that says "Senator (Democratic Name) is SOFT ON TERRA...He/She wants OSAMA to COME TO YOUR HOUSE....and RAPE your CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!"

See, the GOP Dunce just called the Party of FDR and Truman the Party of Cut and Run. I personally think he jumped the shark with that remark, and if he dares to say it again, outside of a GOP love-fest, it might blow back on him.

I do think it's time more people pulled a Bill Clinton and stood up and hollered "Fuck YOU." But I doubt that WILL happen until we get a majority in at least one chamber. The challenge is to GET that majority WITHOUT saying "Fuck YOU!"

48. My e-mail to Lisa Murkowski this morning
I thought you were a woman of conscience, Sen. Murkowski. I am very disappointed in your vote for the torture bill. How could you suspend habeas corpus and deny these people basic human rights? How can you be so sure that everyone who is "detained" is a guilty terrorist? We can't even get that right in our own country - that's why we have trials and appeals. Are innocent Middle Easterners any less human?

It's a sad day for America, and you should be ashamed.

**I'm DONE with these people.**
