All the Democratic leaders have to do...
...is decide they really don't want a violent revolution.

After they decide that, it all becomes simple.

All they really have to do is decide that it is finally time to bring the government to a halt, in order to restore constitutional order. For developing the tactics, they have plenty of good brains in the Democratic congressional membership.

They only have one leader, of course.

His name is Representative the Very Honorable John Conyers, Democrat of Michigan.

Mr. Conyers can continue to lead, and there are other potential leaders who will emerge in short order as soon as the party becomes convinced it must do what is necessary.

What is necessary is to bring the government to a halt. Although I am no congressional politician, even I can imagine a way to stop the government in its tracks. The Democratic party could refuse to vote on any bill at all--not abstain, but refuse to vote up or down, yea or nay. REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE-- just refuse to participate on the grounds that the country is in the sixth year of a Constitutional crisis, and that participation in normal government activity amounts, at this date (September 28, 2006), to collusion in a treasonous attempt to seize the United States of America for purposes totally foreign to the constitution and the will of the majority of its citizens.

The Democratic party could do this, and in concert with those Republican members of congress who still possess a conscience and a basic understanding of the constitution, the Democratic leadership could do any number of things. A short list would include removal of the current administration pending trial on charges of war crimes and treason; installation of an interim administration of persons faithful to the constitution; rapid revision of national voting standards and methods; bipartisan renunciation of torture as a foreign policy tool; apology to the rest of the world for the aberrations of the last six years.

Anyone who agrees with me should be turning out on October 5 to help give voice to the millions of our fellow citizens who feel the same way we do, but don't happen to frequent this board.
