There's simply too much complacency across this country right now. I think computers are partly to blame.
When's the last time you drove down a road and saw an "IMPEACH BUSH" sign planted on the shoulder?
When's the last time you filled up with gas and saw a little paper notice taped on the backside of the pump, hehe, that explained how gas prices were going to rise to $5/gallon, starting in mid-November (whether or not it's true, lol)? Takes about 5 seconds to tape one up.
When's the last time you talked to a fence-sitting swing voter and did some explaining, telling him or her just what's going on?
When's the last time you shamed a Republican acquaintance of yours by telling them that their party is the party of gullible fools who seem to enjoy getting royally fucked over and over?
Talking here with one another is great, yes, but ya just gotta get out once in a while and get the word out, too, in your own way. It doesn't take much time or effort. It's even fun. Heck, most of my "Impeach Bush" signs don't last very long depending where I've put them, but I've noticed they last a little longer than they used to in 2004. The ones I've stuck in the middle of a swampy field seem to last the longest. Course I wear boots in those cases and do it after dark, lol. The easiest way to make up a sign is to "recycle" one of the old worthless repukian campaign signs you might find discarded somewhere, the ones on wire legs, and turn it inside out (with a new magic marker message on it) and then just re-staple it to the wire frame and voila!
Little paper signs and cardboard posters ought to be springing up all across this country in every place imaginable. We gotta get away from the computer just once in a while. People need to see other people thinking along similar lines before they'll jump aboard the bandwagon. Talk to people who you think might be sitting on the fence. It just might be your concerns that push them over to our side of things. Don't ram it down their throats. Just calmly let them know what's happening.
The way I figure it, even if only 10 people see or hear your message, it just might sink into 1 or 2 of them...and then they might pass it on to 10 more people, and so on....and if enough of us get the message out, it will make a difference.
Stick a few signs up here and there, too. Election time is just around the corner. I gotta warn you, though...Republicans hate it when they discover an "Impeach Bush" sign cleverly planted in one of those god awful rows of Repukian campaign signs along the road that you're going to see popping up all over the place soon. They worry that some of the undecided sheep just might agree with your message. And it's not like they can get even by putting up an "Impeach Clinton" sign or anything. ;)
