Here's an idea: Vote against incumbents. ALL of them.
Doesn't matter if you liked them before or not, vote for someone else.

You want to send a message about how unhappy you are with what's happening in Washington? How much attention do you think a 50% or 75% turnover rate in Congress and the Senate would get?

I'm sure you're going to tell me many reason why I shouldn't do this, but I'm going to do it anyway. If enough of us did it, they'd have to listen.

And if nobody else wants to do it, at least I'll know that I've done the right thing. The ONLY thing, I believe, that can save America now.

2. I couldn't in good conscience subject America to more Republican rule
I know it makes a lot of people angry here, but I will be voting straight D.

3. Do what you feel you have to do.
Personally, I'm still going to vote for Senator Nelson. The day I think Katherine Harris can 'save America', my only hope is that someone will put me out of my misery.

9. Well, there are always exceptions. But there are good reasons as well.
Look at Chris Dodd. I REALLY like the guy, but has he been in the trenches in Washington, standing up for what's right?

No. He's been fucking swanning around New Hampshire and Iowa, "feeling out his chances for a presidential run."

I say he goes.

Lieberman's an incumbent, but we have an easy alternative there.

I am SO fucking angry that the Democrats punked out on this, the most naked power grab since the USA PATRIOT act. Where was the screaming? Where was thge yelling? Where was the going back into their districts to tell their constituents about this hideous "legislation?"

But NO, they stayed down in Washington and rolled over like like good little puppydogs.

Fuck 'em, the cowards.

5. I understand righteous anger
but I think the test of responsible citizenship is not expressing anger, its making the best possible choice for yourself, your family and the country. If you think your protest vote is the wisest possible choice you can make, go ahead. I think we've seen that protest votes merely compound the control in the hands of the already strongest party.

6. Don't act frustrated and stupid.
LIEberman and 9 other Democrats voted *for* torture, rape, sodomy, waterboarding, prison without trial, "accidental" and accidental deaths, etc. etc.

Any four of these 10 prevented us from filibustering this bill:
Carper (Del.) <- a very very progressive state so should be vulnerable in the next primary
Johnson (S.D.)
Landrieu (La.) <- she voted against the Democratic amendments, also.
Lautenberg (N.J.)
Lieberman (Conn.) <- take this MF down, now. Vote Lamont.
Menendez (N.J) <- this guy is losing his Senate battle to a much worse Republican.
Pryor (Ark.)
Rockefeller (W. Va.)
Salazar (Co.)
Stabenow (Mich.)
Nelson (Fla.) < He voted against the Democratic amendments, also.
Nelson (Neb.)

And of course:
Every single solitary Republican, including the ones who pretend to be moderate voted for rape, sodomy, pulpifying body parts, waterboarding, and prison without trials.

7. Just from a "what if" POV.
What if everyone did that and the same people got elected anyway. It would prove our election system is rigged if nothing else.

Just something I was thinking about.

McGovern and Kennedy. They vote the way I want them to. They cannot help it that the repukes vote the way bush tells them to. The repukes don't know that bush is an insane bully because they have their headsd up their butts..

12. I will truly vote my conscience, for the first time in years
I think you have to kill the patient to save it.

I honestly do.

After today, I MUST vote for those who hold my values - ALL my values.

Party allegiance is off the table.

I can not live with myself if I do not.

13. That's what my dad is doing.
He is voting for Lamont and John DeStefano, our DEM candidate for Gov.

He thinks all incumbents deserve a pink slip, DEM or not.

14. The two party winner take all voting system is inherently flawed.
This is a manifestation of that flaw. You can't fix it. Vote Democrat and lean things to the left or be prepared for more of this fascist bullshit.
