* has fallen back in the polls again, the Dems are revved up due to the Clinton speech, Iraq is imploding on an ever-widening scale and a few media personalities are making it very clear that bush's incompetence is a BIG issue in this campaign.
The MSM solution: when the facts are against you, call in the pundits to spin things in bush's favor!
I've seen too many incidents in the past two days to recount them all, but two stand out: Ed Rollins on Lou Dobbs as part of his usual 2 Rs v 1 Dem "panel of experts" near the end of his show. Yesterday, Rollins opined that "I think the Ds had a great chance to win this election, but they blew it." Strange - I remember Rollins opining that the Rs were in trouble, but not that the Ds were going to take anything. The reason they "blew it?" Because they had made Iraq the issue and this election was going to be decided by local issues - and the Rs are perfectly positioned for that. WTF?
The second incident was more glaring: Tweety's show today. Today's show was heavily tilted toward RW guests. Tweets started with a segment on the big trouble George Allen was in, but by his 4th segment, he had a 2 on 1 RW/D panel that was discussing how Allen could turn it around and how Webb was a one-issue candidate who would get creamed once Allen started talking about local issues.
Message to Ds: don't listen to the fuckin pundits!
