Can Pitt, or Randi, or anyone else point to a single person who had criticized the administration and has disappeared?

With so many outlets for people to write and to express their opinion, how easy, do you think, it will be for someone to just "disappear?"

As I have recently posted on a different thread, most Americans have no idea of what it means to really live in a totalitarian country, with a police state, where someone can come in the middle of the night and grab one.

Honestly, perhaps William Pitt and others should move to, say, Cuba, or even our "friend" Saudi Arabia, and live there for a year to understand the meaning of a totalitarian regime.

Here is a hint: the first that will "disappear" will be this DU and similar blogs.

If anyone, including Americans, can be declared enemy combatants then they truly can sweep us up and disappear us. They already did this to hundreds of muslims after 9/11. Tell those people that it's not possible for "someone can come in the middle of the night and grab one."
They already have the no fly list that you cannot defend yourself against. It is already legal to search your house without you even knowing, without a warrant. They can do anything and just say terror and enemy and poof you are gone. They made it legal. No more Bill of Rights. No more Constitution. It's over. Why is it paranoid that to think that the very thing they have fought for will not happen? We've had internment camps in this country already so that's possible. Protesters have been killed so that's possible. Gov't produced anthrax can be sent to dissenters. Really these things don't happen overnight but step by step like they are doing right now. Perhaps this blog and others are still here to help them identify and track us. We already know as a fact that they are doing this. I don't think Will's paranoid. I think we are heading down the path. America is not immune.
