"Radicalize yourself on the internet" or "virtual Jihadist".
This is an old story that bears repeating after recent votes in the House and Senate that destroys "Habeas Corpus". While everyone one is trying to figure out who are "enemy combatants", some time ago Homeland Security may have provided a hint as to who they think are or will be enemies of the State.

see link: http://www.examiner.com/a-160056~Chertoff_calls_for_vigilance_against__homegrown_jihadists_.html

“We have to be mindful not only of the continuing, centrally directed al-Qaida plot — where they’re sitting there over in Central Asia and planning an operation to carry out — but also what I call virtual jihad,” Chertoff said. Those are people who can use the Internet to radicalize themselves, train themselves and don’t really have to have a live conversation with somebody in Central Asia or go to someplace in Central Asia for planning. They can do it in their backyard. Such domestic terrorists can learn how to build bombs and launch attacks against civilian targets merely by studying the right Web sites. And that’s a hard thing to penetrate, because the lower the signature of the communications and the more isolated the group is, the less chance that we’re going to be able to catch them using international methods,” Chertoff said.

That’s why Homeland Security continues to rely on local law enforcement authorities to help detect domestic terrorists, often with the help of local tipsters."

With this logic everyone with a computer could be a virtual terrorist.

1. I beg to differ.
If you frequent approved rightwing web sites and attend the correct church, this does not apply to you.
However, if you visit liberal sites... Well you know how they... excuse the term, think.

If you haven't already, learn how to spell 'hypocrite'.

2. My point is the internet is who the administration is targeting.
In the past if you visited Afghanistan you were a person of interest. Now you do not have to leave your home to be targeted for suppression. I visit enough liberal sites I am sure I am a person of interest even though I do not have an ounce of sympathy for the Jihadist nor do the sites I visit such as DU. I find it amazing that the Neo-Cons are not concerned that contacting people on web sites is necessarily a concern, just looking is sufficient to be labeled an enemy.

All of these pieces of surveillance on the internet, suspension of the Constitution are linked. Democrats and those who disapprove of the Neo-Cons are the real target of Homeland Security and BFEE.

Opposing political views to those who seized the National Government are on the verge of becoming illegal. I figure they know who WE are, Mr Chertoff seems to be real curious about internet use. I did not need the internet to convince me George W. Bush and company are scum.
