Why Newsweek ran different national and international covers
I asked a friend at USN&WR about this, and my friend asked a co-worker whose S.O. works at Newsweek.

My friend e-mailed me today to tell me it was because there were six pages of Nikon ads with the Annie Liebowitz package, and because "stuff like Afghanistan does NOT sell at the newsstands."

2. Afghanistan Does NOT Sell
Yeah, it's really deplorable that a magazine named NEWSweek is expected to report the NEWS!

How can we win, with all that's against us. Of course, most MORONS in this country won't notice the difference, or give a shit.

4. Yeah, I guess when you've been lied to so many times by the
press, you stop being interested in their lies.

3. The corporations in collusion to keep the truth from the people
Nikon buys ads to fill the magazine, they put a cover on to promote the pictures and the truth gets hidden again.
