let's remember a very importangt fact. The man is likely a sexual predator.

I have an 8 year old son. Last night I saw a TV cop show (criminal minds) that had a story about child predators. In the episode a school principal was child predator. It was incredibly upsetting to me.

Now I read that a pervert has been in charge of government policy on child predators. I think all you people who have small children can feel the rage that is burning inside me right now.

I want a complete criminal investigation of this man. If he has been preying on children, and if it is proven, I want him to be listed on every sexual predator watch list there is. I want to make sure he is not allowed anywhere near a school. If he has children I want them removed from his home.

So after the laughs die down, let's keep in mind what this person is, and what he might already have done.

I will protect my son against this diseased individual.

When I was practicing, I had many children who had been victims of pedophiles. This was before the internets, but the damage was unreal. The children are so cowed into fearing that 'they' are bad, that abuse can continue for years before it is discovered.

Just as an example, about 5 years ago a family moved onto my street. I sensed something about the 8yo little girl; she was very lovey dovey with my then 10yo son, always wanting to kiss him, and another neighbor boy.

Turns out my gut was right; her brother had been raping her for at least a year.

I'm just grateful that I was so suspicious that I never let my then 5yo daughter go over to that house. I KNEW something was wrong. But, I was a therapist pre-kids. Not everyone knows what to look for and even if they suspect it, acknowledging it can be so incredibly destructive to the family unit, that everyone ignores it. It becomes the 'elephant in the living room'.

not that something is "fair game" between those ages. In many parts of the world (and from what people are saying, DC seems to be one of them) a 16 year old can consent to sex with anyone also over 16, and it's perfectly legal. So many people seem to agree with AchtungToddler.
