It's truly nasty.

You get strapped to the board, head down, the cellophane is wrapped over your face, then gallons of water are dumped on your chest. The water flows under the cellophane, into your nose and mouth, and to the back of your throat, where the gag reflex kicks in. Normally, you'd cough/spit/vomit reflexively to clear your airway, but with the cellophane over your nose and mouth, you can't, so you immediately get an intense sensation of drowning. It's so bad that most people will crack in 20 seconds or less.

Most people haven't heard the "water runs under the cellophane into your mouth & nose, triggering gag reflex, but you can't spit it out" part, and think waterboarding isn't as bad as it is.

It boggles my mind to think that people are capable of doing this to fellow human beings.
