2. Maybe she enjoys it?
She might enjoy the company of her coworkers and customers, and maybe she likes her job. I'm guessing you are talking about a commercial?

There are many places I know of and/or go where the waitresses have been there "forever," before I was even born. The restaurants are like home.

If she HAS to be there, then I agree that is sad, but is there more information?

5. My grandma
waitressed until she was 72. She was very upset when she had to finally quit. She loved waitressing.

7. I'm 73

and I can assure you that my food service work brings me no joy. I don't take it out on the clients. One makes the best of what they must. If it were not necessary to bring that pittance in every month, I might enjoy more time in my garden, doing volunteer work, being with my children in the finite time left.

edited to add: No intelligent person dies wishing they had spent more time at the office.

4. Keep counting...there's probably no number high enough.
As a Social Security recipient who's had to go back to work because of *'s policies, I now believe, barring a lottery win or of course death, I will be working until 77...80 and beyond. How this 77-year-old woman can be a waitress is beyond me--even with Osteo Bi-Flex. Words just fail me to express what's wrong with this and millions of other pictures nowadays. Maybe it's just as well, since if words didn't fail me, those I could articulate might just put me among the "disappeared ones."

Lord help us all!
