So, it would seem that whatever we post here on DU or elsewhere under a "comfortable DU type name" means WE ARE TARGETED.

When we "sign on to Internet Sites" we give a name with an ISP...and WHY should ANYONE Protect US?

We know what we are doing when we throw our "Internet Name" out there...we CANNOT EXPECT ANY SITE TO PROTECT US.

It's just the way it is.. So, if one is worried then they might want to be

well remember the days of the vietnam war protests, and the CIA actively spying on us, the infiltration of the civil rights movement, the peace movement, the women's movement, by the FBI--the days when our phones were tapped, our mail opened, being openly followed. so what happened yesterday is an extension of what they did back then. Back then, we didn't have the internet, had to operate very much like the samizdat in russia. today, at least, we have this fantastic tool, method of communication (at least until they figure out how to shut it down), camcorders, videocams, cameraphones, etc., etc., that can record some of their more egregious behaviour.

Given how SMALL the TRUE PROGRESSIVE/FDR LIBERAL Dem base is with so few "Think Tanks" and "Big Donor Resources" how could we even HOPE to COMPETE?

All these YEARS and DEMS can't find a big SOURCE OF INCOME that can't be open to CORRUPTION ...just like the Repugs? But, Repugs have a FEAST of Think Tanks and Funding. They can get into Bidding WARS over BILLS that EACH is PUSHING. DEMS have no such "LUXURY" having so few who will support them.

I've said what I've said and hope that fellow Liberal Bloggers will stand up for me and everyone ELSE who has been at this for years!

I think being out here with our record gives us some sort of credibility that we could find a Lawyer (although they are fewer than in the 60's where there were scores of able and willing Dem Lawyers who worked for FREEDOM) but I think most of us have some connections SOMEWHERE where we would escape GITMO.

I think Pitt would escape GITMO or those American "Detention Camps" for SURE...so I appreciate his post about what so many of us are thinking of these days...but I think most of us could find SOMEONE who would DEFEND our postings here on this website. Don't you think? :shrug:
