McCain's ad for Allen (just on Hardball) - jaw dropping
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 06:59 PM by Skip Intro
McCain just referred to a "titanic battle between good and evil that is going on in the world" - and Allen understands this.

I know its been said over and over again. Good and Evil. We are out to rid the world of evil? Wow. I've heard it before, but it really just hit me anew when I heard that, from a presidential hopeful, running right now in an ad in VA.

We assume the good role, I guess. Look at this youtube clip, and tell me who's good and who's evil.

(this is not the ad, but a look at our "goodness" - graphic)

1. If he's suggesting that George Allen represents "good,"
then there's no hope for him at all.

I thought I was going to see the actual ad

Not that I mind what I saw - I think they are important images to see. But I'm just sayin'...

7. thanks
I wasn't sure if you were doing that on purpose or what... didn't want to offend you, as I think those images, like I said, are important. But people might not want to click on it if their kid is about to walk in the room, or if they're eating or something.

ANYWAY - yeah, McCain is a total slimeball. As with Cheney, I can't see the POINT of selling out. Once you've faced death. And especially so in McCain's case, for obvious reasons. Astounding.

10. you're welcome
no offense taken, you're correct (I just can't seem to use the word "right" anymore - that word's been destroyed, sadly).

Anyway, it did need clarification. Thanks for pointing it out.

I really felt some admiration for McCain at one point. I was in SC when the repuke primary was held in 2000. I remember McCain talking about stopping the "coronation" of bush. I actually kind of liked him them. He seemed genuine and sincere. Of course, its become clear in the dark years since that he's nothing more than a two bit player in this American tragedy we've seen, and continue to see unfold before our eyes.

He sold out. Accepted the sliming of himself and his wife. Kissed the man responsible. Cheered on every little bush attack on our democracy. I have no respect for him left.

I am just amazed at the "good vs evil" theme, at this date. I wonder who's on his evil list? After we're done ripping apart the Middle East, what evil do we turn our attention to next, in his thinking? When does it come back around to ridding our nation of evil, instead of the world? Who decides who amongst us is good and evil?

Its just so, I don't know, bombastic? I can't find the words to describe the way that phrase, that concept, that mission they've annointed themselves to undertake - can't describe how it makes me feel. I just know it gives me chills.

Anyway, thanks for the comments.

5. This particular relationship is like a contract with the devil...
Allen needed McCain's military creds for his Senatorial race, McCain gets free pub in Virginia heading into the Presidential races.

6. Americans will always see themselves as good
So painting them as evil is pretty much a guarantee that they'll never listen to another word you've got to say.

8. I hope McCain gets up with some fleas from this.
I would like to see him utterly thoroughly irrevocably exposed as the lowlife craven unprincipled attention-seeker that he is.
