1. The future cannot be predicted; it's too clouded at this time
We do not know if we will be in a conflict with Iran, and we will not know if there is a major mass-casualty event between today and that time. Those two are big variables that have not been accounted.

Dread alternates with hope at a rate too rapid to keep up with.

:shrug:

We have to try to make a Democratic sweep so great that no election-time tricks can negate it. That's our only real hope.
