GM Hires FNC's Sean Hannity For Its Latest Car Giveaway...

General Motors has signed on Fox News host Sean Hannity as the new face of GM's latest car giveaway campaign, called "The Sean Hannity 'You're a Great American' Car Giveaway."

I will NEVER buy a GM car.

3. That's what we're looking at.
I've had 3 and they are great cars. The Ford is getting replaced soon, and there will be another Toyota for us. Yep, buying American made!

7. Best cars I've ever owned have all been Japanese.
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 08:31 PM by impeachdubya
(Even when they're manufactured in the states, which kind of negates the "American Jobs" argument) I used to have an '88 Nissan Sentra that would have lasted forever if I hadn't let some chucklehead do an "economy" maintenance job on it. Now I drive a Corolla. Great car, great mileage.

24. The money goes to whoever owns the stock. U.S. vehicles have up to 50%

foreign parts. How does that work into your pro-union stance? I support unions to a certain extent. But you can't expect people to buy an inferior product just because it's "union-made." How successful has the UAW been in keeping U.S. workers from losing pensions and being laid off due to plant closures. Not very, IMO? GM and Ford auto manufacturing jobs are being outsourced to Mexico, South Korea, and eventually to India and China. How does that make you feel about these "American" companies?

27. You can buy a car from any country.....
you like. If you believe the cars from the US are inferior feel free to buy a foreign. As for me I'll buy a union made automobile.

4. I've bought GM's since1961. Last week I bought a Honda Odyssey.
Stuff it, GM. If you think a Hannity gimmick will do the trick for you, you can do it without me.

8. That's All It Takes - Never Another Chevy Truck For Me
And I've owned a dozen of them over the years and am in the market for a new truck right now. At dam near $40K for a three-quarter ton diesel these days I get to be real picky about which one I buy. So much for the Duramax.

18. I have an S-10 pickup, my wife has a Honda CRV
after driving the Honda, it soon became apparent that the pickup was obsolete technology. There is no comparison as to handling, ride and acceleration. I will never buy another GM product, ever. I know that they are really not comparable vehicles, but the difference is so extreme that I couldn't help but make a comparison.

19. We aren't buying "american" anymore
too undependable and expensive to repair. When our timing belt blew on our Ford, part/repair $700. So we comparison shopped and on the Honda Accord-same part/repair-$200 and it has a lot better gas mileage. Everything except the engine (I believe husband said-could be wrong) is made in America anyway.

applaud you! It's that kind of principled stand that we Democrats need to convince American workers that it's our party that speaks for them and not the party of Sean Hannity!

23. Well, perhaps if GM put as much thought into their automotive design
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 11:53 AM by kysrsoze
as they did on their inane sales campaigns, they wouldn't be in this mess. Don't blame people for being pissed at the company's decision to work with right-wingers and promote FUX news. That will ultimately get them into a worse situation. Ford and GM have bet the bank on cost-cutting and new light-duty trucks. They're losing.

If both Ford and GM's management focused on the design of their automobiles, they would look better, drive better and be more reliable. That is why people are drawn to foreign cars. European cars have always been nicer and more exciting to drive. Japanese cars have been more reliable and are catching up to Europe in performance and styling. Where is the U.S. outside the Cadillac division? They're taking small steps with the Solstice/Sky and a few other cars, but they have a LONG way to go. The quality is simply not as good.

25. I've always owned Chevrolets
and most likely always will. Started when I was a kid and I never got over it. 2 56's, 2 dr hdt, 2 door post, 57 2 door post, 55 Nomad, 41 coupe. I now have 2 S10's, a Blazer and a p/u. Cheap to keep. Went Japanese for awhile, throw away cars. They last long time but pretty much like a refrigerator.
