There have been rumors on the Internets
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 10:49 PM by ck4829
That several Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government have begun to rebel against the Bush Administration. Two of the groups that are believed to be in this rebellion are the State Department and a part of the CIA.

So, my question is this:

What are WE doing to help this rebellion become strong?

1. Keep on keeping on. We're doing it. And more important,
the * admin deserves any wrath they get and are and have been providing the fodder.
I haven't heard the rumors. Do tell!

Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 10:45 PM by BanzaiBonnie
I believe there are also factions within the military that are ready to help upset the apple cart.

This America is crazy. Some are beginning to open their eyes.

11. The passage of this intelligence law should wake many of them
up. Habeas Corpus, etc. is what we have fought to protect in very war since the signing of the Magna Carta. What do we have left to fight for if that and other rights are taken away. Most agencies in the government are run by *ss appointees but the core workers have long known that we are in dangerous waters.

9. We raise the level of public awareness - job one for DU
The good spooks and military officers who know an illegal order when they hear one move carefully. As more people learn the crimes of the junta, more info can be poured out to them.

There is a critical mass point. It is coming.

Go back to the inflamed rhetoric bush used lobbying for his get out of the Hague card legislation: He mentioned the need for "clarity" and went on about 'the young intelligence officer who needs that clarity'.

Buzzer went off in my head: There have been refusals to follow illegal orders! The whiny frat brat chicken hawk was not just looking for a get out of the Hague card, he wanted a stick to beat back a mutiny!

The not so civil war is raging in the US. It is starting to be noticeable.

There are many in public service who actually take it seriously, who take oaths to heart, who do it all in service to the Constitution. They are present in all agencies, known and not so known. They are fucking sick and tired of junta appointed department heads who got their jobs based on party loyalty and not on any skill, knowledge, experience. They do not serve the country, they serve Cheney's junta. The good guys are working against such department heads and working FOR America.

We have to back them up by making sure John Q. Public gets it and gets damned pissed about it all. We back them up by getting the truth out in such overwhelming waves the public is rocked from their comfortable delusions that 'somebody is taking care of it all and I can watch Desperate Housewives'.

We back them up by going down the paths they blaze and get others to see beyond the illusions.

The chess game is getting interesting. Cheney is in trouble and worried. You can tell by how hard they are making the puppet work of late.

12. October 5th. WCW.

Anybody can do it, too, if they are motivated. I am a free-lancer and can't afford to alienate my employer, but I can get my work done and still show up locally for the cameras. (And I will not be in my most radical attire.)

13. It was suggested today that the military might refuse to attack Iran
After thinking about this, it is not completely beyond the realm of possibility - though very unlikely.

Can you imagine if something like this were to occur?

16. Mutiny on the Eisenhower? Can't picture it.
Would make a Hell of a movie, though! :-)

"As reports circulate of a sharp debate within the White House over possible US military action against Iran and its nuclear enrichment facilities, The Nation has learned that the Bush Administration and the Pentagon have issued orders for a major "strike group" of ships, including the nuclear aircraft carrier Eisenhower as well as a cruiser, destroyer, frigate, submarine escort and supply ship, to head for the Persian Gulf, just off Iran's western coast. This information follows a report in the current issue of Time magazine, both online and in print, that a group of ships capable of mining harbors has received orders to be ready to sail for the Persian Gulf by October 1."

22. Not all in CIA happy about torture
Believe me. Not all happy about a lot of illegal orders.

Remember, bush spoke about young intel officers who 'needed clarity'. Trust me. Somebody said 'No, sir, I will not execute that illegal order.'

bush wants more than insurance for himself, he wants a stick to beat the CIA with. That legislation was not to protect the CIA but to coerce them into following the junta's orders.

in control in Bush's carefully handpicked junta after all the shakeups and purges.

27. Not in position to control, but in position to do much damage
Notice how, in the past 12 months, bad news for the junta keeps coming, faster and more at once?

There has been a chess game afoot. Knights and bishops moving in on kings and Queens.

Where's Cheney? Hiding, tearing what's left of his hair out and working very hard on the methods by which he must steal the coming election. Stampede one's opponent into a rushed panic and they are bound to miss an important detail or two. The chess game is still on, the knights and and bishops are still in play.

24. Remember there are patriots and chickenhawks co-mingled in all depts.
Yes a big piece of the CIA is really really really pissed off at the chickenhawk crowd. Same at State.

Many of the other Depts. are pissed as well having been defunded. I'm wondering how many in the FBI and Justice are biding time until the opportune moment.
