Less public transit = more cars = more gas sold = higher profits for oil companies = bigger bribes to Congresscritters.

3. Because They Would Then Also Have To Fund Rail Repair |
|
Do you know how bad the condition of the nation's railway system is? Other than log and grain moving operations out west a person would have to be nuts to ride on a train in this country. As Ralph Nader once titled a book - Unsafe at any speed.

10. Not to mention rail itself |
|
If they talked about funding rail security, people might ask, "How come we don't have trains like the ones in other countries?"

5. Because they really don't give a frog's fat ass about protecting America.. |

or spending a dime on anything that benefits the citizenry. Their sole mission is to pass legislation favorable to their corporate masters and secure big, fat post-Congress paydays for themselves. I hate these people. They are the lowest of the low - they're horrid SOBs.

9. Well, DUH... there's no big money GOP donors stand to... |
|
...make a bundle off it, silly. They only fund things that Halliburton or Exxon and their ilk are interested in.

11. When they meet an Abramoff lobbyist, (and paybacks), they will. |
|
Unfortunately , this corruption is on BOTH sides of the aisle. The fact that Dem's are down as the minority speaks volumes as far corruption. (They are less corrupted.)

12. They think mass transit is not a terrorist target? |
|
It was in London.
Is GOP enabling terrorists? The more terrorism, the more plausible cause for them to take away some more of our rights. But they can't be that evil, it's not like there are criminals in the GOP.
