Jean Pirro under Federal investigation over secret spying on her husband??
http://www.townhall.com/News/NewsArticle.aspx?ContentGuid=7f6bcb6c-52b3-4517-ad89-d135c83d252e

The National Organization for Women came to the defense of Jeanine Pirro and Republican leaders said there were no plans to drop her as their candidate for state attorney general Thursday after it learned she is under federal investigation over a plan to secretly record her unfaithful husband.

A defiant Pirro said she is determined to stay in the race and will seek a federal investigation into the leak of sealed court documents regarding her discussions with former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik about taping her husband, Albert Pirro.

The leak "is the only felony that has occurred in this situation," Pirro told the New York Hispanic Clergy Association in New York City.

Pirro said that she had talked with Kerik about her desire to tape her husband and find out whether he was having another affair. But she denied any taping took place, and said she was was simply venting her anger in discussing the idea with Kerik.

What a train wreck!

1. It's very ugly.
What a strange series of circumstances involved with Ms. Pirro. Being married to a mobster may allow for a degree of material comforts, but it clearly has a downside beyond what is shown on any HBO series. And it's probably not going to instill the "family values" that are going to win elections.

It's really a sad case, in many ways. She is, in many ways, a highly intelligent woman, and had the potential to have been a good politician. But the lust for money and the power it buys, which is the disease that infects republicans, destroyed her. Many New Yorkers recall her humiliating experience trying to deliver a speech when she was running for the senate. It kind of sums up her political career.

2. You are so right about the lust for money and power.
It is the fundamental difference between us and them, IMO. It drives them and clouds everything they do. I guess it is a different goal when you are a child, I was excited when I saw a Goode's World Atlas when I was young, I knew I wanted to travel the World-such was my life's goal. I guess those people's course is set when they first see a cash register!

The only issues they care about are property rights and taxes. They care about being able to purchase influence as well, of course, as do all the wealthy.

5. That's Why They Hide Behind Crosses And Flags
It masks so much of the character flaws that lie just beneath the surface with many of these people. Ambition and power breeds ignorance and arrogance to common sense and reality. To innoculate themselves from facing their selfishness, they wrap themselves in religion or patriotism or "family values" or some other feel good ideal then pretend indignation when others cross the lines they regularly do as to deflect attentions away from their own conflicted lives. Yes, truly a sad saga.

:hi:

Cheers...

3. has anyone seen the Hanitty clips on crooksandliars?
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 09:22 AM by TheFarseer
www.crooksandliars.com has back to back mp3's of Hanitty going off about wiretapping, in one clip he is for it and in one clip he is against it. I guess wiretapping in fine unless they wiretap a republican. Then "you ought to be outraged about this. This is not the Soviet Union. You have the right to make a telephone call and not have your government, or fear that your government is going to leak that information for political purposes." Now do you see why unwarranted wiretapping is bad? No? Because you're a f*cking idiot? OK, got it
