PELOSI BILL PASSES 410-0, ETHICS REPORT WHO COVERED UP FOLEY IN 10 DAYS!!
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 08:51 AM by Dems Will Win
Holy Merde! I never thought I would report this:

PELOSI BILL PASSES 410-0

Everyone must admit that the firecracker known as Nancy Pelosi has now been lit. It's the Democratic Mom of America out to find out who covered up the Foley Pedophilia and how the Democrats WERE NEVER TOLD and why the pages were thus left endangered. "Leadership sources" are now denying Hastert knew about it, that his office knew about it BUT HE DIDN'T!?!?!

They are so dumb they think that's going to fly.

FROM HUNTER AT THE DAILYKOS:

It may be late Friday night, but new info is coming fast and furious. I'll cite Josh Marshall again, since he's updating with new information and his site is currently going up and down from the traffic:

Chairman of the House Page Board, Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) interviewed Foley last year about some of the contacts with the page. The House clerk who is also a member of the Board was also present. Speaker Hastert's office was informed of the interview, but according to leadership sources who spoke to Roll Call, Hastert himself was not informed.

Rep. Dale Kildee (D-MI), the only Democrat on the Board, was not informed of the interview, according to Roll Call.

Note how quickly the information is coming out now about who knew what, and when, in the Republican leadership. They're thoroughly burned on this one -- people are talking, now, to a lot of people in the media.

Pelosi, furious that the Democratic leadership were not informed of the situation for nearly an entire year after the emails were discovered, has already demanded and gotten a House Ethics investigation -- her resolution passed the House 410 to zero. The House committee on Official Conduct now has ten days to issue a preliminary report on what the Republican leadership knew, when they knew it, and what they did or didn't do about it.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/30/0642/65697

Of course, Boehner threw Hastert under the bus--no doubt eyeing the top job himself--saying that he told Hastert about it in the spring and Hastert replied "we're taking care of it." That means Hastert's office or the "leadership sources" LIED. Hastert may have to resign soon, just to try and save the election!

Oh and some things never change:

The July 7, 1989 edition of the Washington Times:

"Administration officials continued yesterday to stonewall reporters on the growing federal 'call boy' investigation, apparently hoping the scandal will fade before President Bush is asked his view of a late-night White House tour that reportedly included two male prostitutes. Nebraska Republican State Senator John DeCamp later said that many of the young prostitutes were procured from the Boy's Town orphanage near Omaha.

Treasury Secretary Nicholas Brady, who heads the Secret Service, reluctantly conceded yesterday at the White House that the agency is looking into the July 3, 1988, tour - one of several arranged by a Secret Service officer for lobbyist Craig J. Spence." The report continued, "White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater and several of his deputies have said repeatedly that they do not know if Mr. Bush considered it appropriate for male prostitutes to be touring the White House at 1 a.m. Yesterday, while talking informally to several reporters at the White House, Mr. Fitzwater parried one question this way: "What are they saying, that you should have sexual-preference checks on people that come into the White House?"

It really is the Greedy Old Pedophile Party!

UPDATE: BOEHNER NOW SAYS HE CAN'T REMEMBER WHETHER OR NOT HE EVER DID TALK TO HASTERT AND IF HASTERT REPLIED "WE'RE TAKING CARE OF IT". SO THAT MEANS THAT BOEHNER KNEW AND DIDN'T TELL HASTERT? OMG! WHICH IS WORSE?? BOEHNER'S BONER SHOULD BE KEITH'S HEADLINE.

Boehner later contacted The Post and said he could not remember whether he talked to Hastert.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now think how much fun we will all have canvassing for your local Democrat!

Here is Foley's hypocritical Web Page on Child Predators!!

We live in a new day and age, when our children are being exposed to more threats at school, in their own neighborhoods and even on the internet. In 1998, I helped to establish the Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus in Congress in order to bring more attention to legislation and issues that provide law enforcement and parents with the tools they need to keep children safe.

I have been honored to become a leader on this issue in Washington, sponsoring
legislation that ensures organizations that deal with children have proper background checks, strengthens sex offender laws and eliminates child pornography.

* Sponsored legislation signed by the President that gives volunteer organizations that work with children, such as scouting and sports groups, access to FBI fingerprint-based background checks to ensure that they are not inadvertently hiring child molesters.

* Sponsored legislation toughening the penalties for those who hurt children.

* Joined forces with the Administration and Congress to fight child predators.

* Authored the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, which has passed both the House and Senate and which will overhaul the way predatory pedophiles are tracked and monitored.

* Introduced and cosponsored legislation designed to eliminate child pornography and exploitive child modeling web sites.

* Worked closely with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and John Walsh (host of FOX TV’s "America’s Most Wanted") on a variety of child protection programs. Among the latest of these is a program designed to show children how to protect themselves from online predators.

21. Here is the INCREDIBLE VIDEO WHERE PELOSI HANDS BOEHNER
his ass! I am going to play this for everyone who comes by!

This is the best news for the Democrats the wya it has come down. Political consultants often joke to their candidates: "You're going to win--just don't get arrested for child molesting!"

38. Here's what happened: Pelosi's resolution was amended
by Boehner to go to the Ethics Committee rather than the Standards Committee. It passed 409-0, with one vote somewhere lost along the way somehow.

So Pelosi did win, and the report is due IN 10 DAYS!

4. And THIS is why it's important to keep the focus on this case
It points to the leadership of the Republican party.

Dems and Reps. disagree on many issues mainly because the Repubs trust their leadership. They feel they are morally(or constitutionally) incaple of not being trustworthy.

If you start to chip at their trust in the leadership this may provide an opening for them to question others things, particularly the policies.

It's hard for them to put this horse back in the barn because it involves pedophilia. They know they come across as trying to support a pedophile but they fact that they knew about this for a year contradicts what they say today.

8. She is everywhere
From her site:

http://www.democraticleader.house.gov/

I particularly like the ‘Mr. Rosy Scenario.’ regarding Bush. Now, if only every other Dem would take to calling him Rosy at EVERY opportunity. If only they could get a clue about FRAMING.

Pelosi Statement on Ethics Investigation of Mark Foley (09|29|2006)

"For more than 150 years, children from across the nation have come to Washington to serve as pages in the U.S. Capitol. The Page School is a national treasure, and the children who attend it and work in the Congress are our special trust. Members of Congress have a responsibility to protect their employees, especially young pages who serve this institution."

Pelosi Statement on New Report on Jack Abramoff’s Attempts to Influence White House Officials (09|29|2006)

"The American people deserve better. The Republican culture of corruption is so entrenched in Washington that the Republicans cannot bring themselves to pass lobby reform legislation even in the face of these extraordinary scandals. It’s clearly time for a new direction to restore integrity to Congress."

Pelosi: ‘President’s Speech This Morning Showed Once Again He is in Denial’ (09|29|2006)

"Important decisions are made about how we send our young people into conflict and what the reason, preparation, and strategy is, and it seems that the President has failed on all of those scores and he has become ‘Mr. Rosy Scenario.’ He paints a rosy scenario in Iraq and in Afghanistan, and the fact is that his actions have not made us safer and have not helped us fight the war on terror."

They have 10 days to report. Is John Shimkus up for election?

Go get em Nancy!

26. Exactly. All she "won" was a recorded vote...
And what I don't get is that the vote ended up being unanimous, so what did that get us? That was the vote to send it to the Ethics committee, no? And we all know they don't do anything.

So shouldn't there have been a recorded vote about her resolution for an investigation? THAT is what we needed recorded, the votes against an investigation. Did that happen?

Then tried to move it to the ethics committe by a voice vote. "The No's have it"

She got a recorded vote, but was boo'ed by the pack of republican assholes.

Where were all those booing thugs during the recorded vote? Aint gonna stick up for Foley eh?
So fucking incredibly disgusting.

410 to ZERO.

Sure sounded like a chorus of "AYES", certainly more than ZERO when the speaker asked about sweeping this investigation under the rug to the ethics committee.

We get right out there and do what needs to be done. Pelosi, in truth and in fact, led the Repubs and got them to do the right thing, after at least a year of criminal negligence on the part of Hastert and Boehner. Like good little Repubs, they protect their friends, just like Nixon.
