As detailed in my latest SEC filings regarding Halliburton, GOP "leaders" have ignored the content and implications of the mis-directed e-mails I received while working at Halliburton/KBR's Government Proposals Group in Arlington, Virginia:
http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?company=smith+david+allen&CIK=&filenum=&State=&SIC=&owner=include&action=getcompanyI share my very common name - except for my middle initial - with David R. Smith, VP of Tax at Halliburton. The mis-directed e-mails I received dealt with the company's strategy for containing the DOJ/FBI/SEC investigation into the Nigerian bribery issue, keeping it out of the press if possible, and spinning the press (if necessary).
Untaxed, offshore, off-balance-sheet funds were used to pay off Nigerian officials, so that Halliburton could build energy projects there - putting domestic American workers (such as coal miners from my native West Virginia) out of work.

Many progressive-minded Republicans in the Bill Weld mold think W stands for "Who in the party thought this moron was Presidential timber?"
