On October 25, 2005, Tampa-based Homeland Security Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement official Frank Figueroa was arrested at Orlando's Mall at Millenia for exposing himself and masturbating in front of a 16-year old girl in the food court. Figueroa used his federal law enforcement badge in an attempt to avoid arrest.

Amazingly, Figueroa had been in charge of the Homeland Security Department's Operation Predator, designed to curb child sexual exploitation and child pornography.

I can't tell you how many times I have been listening to John Walsh talking on TV, and have had to turn it because I can't ctand the creepy Republican partisanship--"George Bush has been so helpful on this issue, so honorable," "Ronald Reagan was so wonderful," "Ted Kennedy held the whole thing up by playing games," on and on, like an opportunity. The recent bill to get a more comprehensive registry and safeguard missing children, so trumpeted in the media, and Walsh gushing about Bush, oddly, actually added nothing to existing law, and does not deal with the problem of released sex offenders who got outrageously short sentences, which is the real problem--yet nobody mentioned that this whole spectacle was vanity, and helped no one. Walsh has long been well-known as a Republican hack--sickening under the circumstances--who actually does little to help the problem, but who gets on TV and grabs credit a lot.

I don't know for sure, but just to guess, I highly doubt that Mark Klass has any sympathy at all for Foley. I really like Mark Klass, and get the feeling that Klass was and still is devastated by Polly Klass's rape and murder. You can just see the pain, the burning hurt and anguish, the anger that has nowhere to go, all over Klass's face, and you can hear it. This is a real fighter for children and their right to be safe. I get the impression from a few comments that Klass may be a Democrat, but regardless, I get a totally different impression than from the "sleazy," "use the material" John Walsh, Republican operative. Mark Klass really seems like a devastated, grieving parent to me, very sympathetic and true.

Walsh has done a lot to fight the missing children issue, and I'm sure Foley did a lot to help his organization.

He said that it is fairly common knowledge (at least among seedy people) in Florida that John Walsh was a top importer/exporter of cocaine with connections to corrupt RW politicians and cops in his pocket. He said that many believe that his son, Adam, was abducted in retaliation during a drug war.
