We run them over without giving a damn. I see no reason they shouldn't attack us. I'm surprised every species doesn't do it. We test on them, we chuck them around in giant metal bins determining which to eat and which to breed, like I said, we run them over. 17. We have raccoons here in Colorado Springs.

They killed two of our cats...well, they weren't very bright cats. But they also were not afraid of our very large dog who barked at them. They stood their ground and got all puffed up. They apparently will attack large dogs as well.

And as for the squirrels...ours have been quite frisky and bold lately, I definitely think feeding them may be a problem.

It's dog food and cat food that attracts them here. My daughter used to leave it out for her cat and she can't anymore. They come right up to her front porch and aren't a bit afraid. They don't kill animals here, I guess there's enough other food for them. Lots of blackberries too. She lives closer to the creek than I do, she had bears last year. Freaky!!

and began tossing them to the squirrels, who were quite used to being fed by humans. More and more squirrels converged and some even came from behind me and began jumping on my back. A crowd gathered as I hand-fed them, but it became a little overwhelming. I was accustomed to close contact with squirrels, having helped my daughter do rehab for orphans. I have a few out back who come up to me when I arrive home, waiting for peanuts. Sitting outside in a lawn chair can get to be a problem, though, if you begin to feed them. It's probably best not to.
