This Foley stuff reminds me of my experience on Myspace....
Ok, I have a myspace page, and since the only online photo I have of myself is an old one of me riding a bull, I use that. It's actually a good way to get people to view my page, because lots of people are interested in something sort of wild, like Bull Riding. Then the more people I have interested in my profile the more will read my blog and like my writing etc.

Well, I have an influx of people who are clearly Republican that want to be added as my friend. They have "Support the Troop" stuff on their pages, send out "Support the Troop" type bulletins, one even advocated profiling, several of them have Confederate flags prominently on their pages.

I don't mind them contacting ,e, I have known people who are Republicans all my life, some of my best friends are Conservative, and truly are great people. So I add most of these people to my friends list.

The thing is most just see my rodeo picture and comment on that. They are very interested in that sort of thing. The guys especially. In fact, some of the guys have made me a bit uncomfortable. One guy kept sending out sex bulletins like "Do you want to fuck me?" and sent me a few messages one that said something about "Bill Riding." Ok, it could have been a typo, and "I" is next to "U", but I am not so sure. He made a few tacit advances at me, which I just ignored. Another guy flat out asked me if I wanted to meet him.

So, the maybe I got it wrong, but here we have overtly GOP men, going online and soliciting other men for sex. I am willing to bet that in their normal lives these guys are hardcore homophobes. Similar to how Mark Foley was a righteous crusader fighting for exploited children etc.

I always have thought that the people who have a vehement hatred towards something, like homosexuality, hate it so strongly because they see it in themselves and do not know how to deal with it. But yes, I am just rambling with some thoughts...

1. Oh, I think you wrapped it up quite nicely. And I'm sure that I wasn't
a typo.

2. Possibly. But I have a thing about Myspace.
It isn't as bad as people make it. I use Myspace for me and my friends at school. Once, and only once, did someone ask to be my friend who i didn't know. And I just didn't except. Why be friends with someone you don't know?! But as for the sex-related part of it, you could just delete them from your list.

3. What makes a homosexual pedophile any worse than any other
pedophile? I am not sticking up for the guy but I think it would be much worse if he had been hitting up on little girls. Just food for thought.

4. I am curious, seriously. Why do you think girls worse than boys?
Just wondering, thanks. :hi:

6. I have read this from other posters too and wonder why.
Not to snark or argue, but truly wondering why to find out why people feel this way. I am curious and like to find out about how other people think. Sometimes I snark and argue, but not this time.

9. Sexism is alive and well. Diminished in our society, but far from dead.
I myself still engage in it on occasion, lol.

7. I just think that 16 year old boys would have enough smarts to say
no. Young girls are much more vulnerable. It does not mean that they are dumber. Having raised three children, two boys and a girl, the girl was more innocent. Little girls do not talk about sex the way boys do.
