There are really so many reasons why they must step down, and it's all spelled out in the current issue of Mother Jones. There's pictures, and a timeline there, and graphics to tell when the public was told the truth versus when they (Bush&co) knew the truth. (For the text-challenged Americans, I think this would be a good choice!) Boy, you really know things are bad when you need a key to tell you what is going on in a story, even though you lived through it, as all of us have. It has felt like some kind of hell.

ennywho - I was hoping for a longer story on this from 60 minutes. I've ordered the book

86. I don't know that he has ever said exactly how

but he has not made it a secret that he was given that access. That includes info that he had and did nothing with concerning Plame too. That made the news when he was questioned back then about his contacts in the WH and what he knew about Plame.

He has now said in at least two interviews (again on the Today Show today) that the things he was asking questions about to the WH and the various departments WERE secret documents. He talks about secret reports from the intelligence agencies that contradicts what blivet** was saying out loud in his speeches.

Interesting to note that I have not heard that Woodward had any level of security clearance, just as it has never been confirmed that Tony Snow has any either.

I'm at work so I haven't seen 60 Minutes yet - thanks for this thread.

BTW, I have the book. A quick peruse didn't show anything that new to me that we at DU didn't know, but with the past 2 books being pro-Bush and with the other books out there like Fiasco, Hubris, One Percent Doctrine, Blood Money, Imperial City, etc. and what we see everyday on TV from Iraq (and I've noticed more coverage and I especially give kudos to Michael Ware on CNN) it is drip, drip, drip. What is interesting is the tidbits like Condi's meeting on 7/10/01 not known to 9-11 commission, Laura and Card trying to get Rummy fired, Kissenger trying a re-do on Vietnam with Iraq, Poppy's feelings, Bandars involvement, etc.

I think this and the Foley scandal will help us get a Dem congress in '06 and hopefully a Dem president in '08.
