Democrats say Foley's predatory behavior mismanaged.
Democrats in the House are deeply troubled by Foley's actions, and say it lacked any kind of planning or preparation. Among other criticisms, they say Foley should have fired his chief of staff months ago, as it became clear that things were not going well. They also say that he probably should have used a different IM service, one with better protection.

Of course, Democrats do want to do the right thing for the pages, and feel that they cannot be let down now that foley has led them on. They support full funding for Cong. Foley's cell phone, until the pages can govern themselves. "We know premature withdrawal would be a terrible disservice to the Pages, and we will not cut and run! Foley needs to finish the job, but he needs to do it right." A democratic leader said.

If Dems responded to the Foley follies the same way they responded to the illegal, immoral, insane, stupid war in Iraq, we might be seeing the above. But this action the Democratic leaders take a definitive stand on, killing kids in Iraq, however, now that can go on and on.

1. Republicans to start Draft for more pages.
Potential pages are being trained on proper douching of their behinds to prevent
disease during congressional intercourse, all at the republican page retreat
center in buggerkid, georgia.

3. The Dems are driving me nuts, where are they?
A repuke gets busted for predatory behavior, the wing-nut talking heads go on the offensive screaming about 10, 20 and 30 year old Democratic scandals, all over the airwaves and the Dems are keeping quiet because they don't want to "politicize the issue". Arrggghhhh!! Gimme a fucking break already, what kind of chickenshit crap is this? "Oh we don't want to politicize the issue because.. because... well those mean ole' Republicans might call us names! Goddammit grow a fucking spine will ya!

4. Missed the point of my post, but that's alright.
The point being is that Dems are taking the Foley thing very seriously, doing what they should do in regard to the war. Foley's problem was not that hitting on kids was "mismanaged", but that it was wrong and criminal, and in no way should continue. Why can't Dem leaders say that about the war? Why was that illegal action not called criminal? Why is it funded by almost every Democrat in Congress?

7. Oh I fully agree with your post, problem is, we all well know
that the Dems standing up against the war isn't going to get us a majority in the House and Senate. As sad as it is that the lives of the Iraqi people and our soldiers are not as important to the other side as a juicy sex scandal we still must use whatever weapons we have to win. If the Dems are taking this seriously they need to come out and say it. Loudly. We can use this as a springboard to take back the house and senate, once we have some power back we can start on the larger problems at hand. The real test will be, if we take both the house and senate, whether or not the dems start impeachment proceedings, criminal investigations and war trials.

9. Sadly, the reason dems aren't standing against the war is because
many don't oppose it, and only see it as "mismanged". kerry ran on the premise that we needed MORE troops. And that we needed "an exit plan", after Iraq was brought into the US empire. some of us say fuck that empire. we don't want that empire. OUT NOW.
When dems get control of congress, this war will drag on for years. Even into a Democartic Presidency. Unless we insist otherwise.

Mark Foley's emails have the most typographical errors I have EVER SEEN, and I've read Free Republic! Come on dems, grow a spine! Why are you afraid the GOP will play the Grammar Nazi card? They're already real Nazis!

Great post btw TJ.
