2. That guy's an asshole.
I saw him give a commentary about how he'd do whatever it takes to win the "war on terror."

I was shouting at the screen, "Yeah, except actually sign up and fight, shithead!"

3. That's okay. 100% of the 3000 killed on 9-11 were not killed by
anyone in Iraq. So we did we murder the 31% of the 655,000, leaving aside that the the other 69% would be alive if we hadn't invaded for no reason?

.31 * 655,000 = 203,050. That's still a lot of murders.

4. So US troops killed 206,150 Iraqis!?!
And that makes the fact that the insurgency the US has been fighting and not winning against killed huge amounts of people makes it okay!?!?

at a point just beyond the Green Zone and see if he likes it. Sick man.

6. For the math impaired, that's still 200,000 people.

And of course, the responsibility for the rest is squarely placed upon the Americans--that figure is based on the number of people who have been killed above and beyond Saddam Hussein's own level of tyranny.

7. Glenn Beck is to savvy political commentary
as David Duke is to race relations and the common Freeper is to intelligence.

Glenn Beck is an oxymoron. . .well, no. He's an Ox and a moron!

8. That's OK because only 80% of the dollars in the DOW

...are actually worth a y2k dollar. The rest are worthless paper printed by the FED.

9. To be fair, that could be true
it could be that 70% were killed in insurgent attacks, since they don't really discriminate at all.

Point is, though, none of those deaths would have occured if the US hadn't invaded, because there would be no insurgency and terrorists would not be in Iraq.

Killed by Americans or not, we are still responsible for their deaths.

BTW: part of me thinks Glenn Beck just wanted to say "69"

11. even taking that statistic as true,
we unleashed the series of events that led to the current situation in Iraq.

It's akin to felony murder. If I rob a bank (a felony), and the guard shoots at me, even if he misses and kills a teller, I am responsible for murder. My criminal action was directly responsible for the collateral damages.

14. It would have also been grammatically correct to have said
"Who gives a fuck what that fucking fuck said"

And you would have been correct, 3 uses of the same word.

Now that would have been a sentence, right there.

But I've always been a fan of "asshat", too. It was a strong choice

15. That is true
The study estimates that 30% of the 655,000 died by the hand of American troops, or 219,000. The remaining 436,000 died via the sectarian violence and civil war that our invasion unleashed. It is the same civil strife mentioned by Brent Scowcroft as the probable outcome of Bush's illegal invasion in his famous anti-war op-ed in the WSJ in 2002. Knowing this would be the outcome, a nation violently divided against itself, Bush pushed ahead anyway.

But I'll spare the objectionists the subtle moral reasoning that makes clear that the 436,000 dead also fall to the moral ledger of George W Bush and leave it at the 219,000 figure. 219,000 mostly innocent civilians have died because George Bush, despite an absence of threat to the United States and to the region, decided to initiate an illegal aggressive war and occupation. That rises to a serious level of crimes against humanity. We hung people at Nuremburg for far less. I'd be content with an impeachment and conviction, then throw him and his regime to the Hague as long as he is evermore distant from the reigns of power.

Helen Thomas' statement, "Worst President Ever" has proven to be a remarkable understatement. Bush turns everything he touches into misery and pain. He has that demonically magic touch. Can't wait for him crawl back under the jaded rock he crawled out from.

Glenn Beck manipulated the statistics so he could say "69"

21. Wasn't the Red Cross pre-invasion prediction half a million casualties?
I remember Ann Coulter joking back during the "Mission Accomplished" days how far off they were. Or how far off she thought they were.
