Amusing Hate Mail... Lesson? Freepers need to watch sentence structure.
Edited on Sat Oct-14-06 07:37 PM by Tom Joad
I rarely get hate mail to my website. www.tomjoad.org Maybe no more than ten emails a year an opponent sends me invective email. I also get a few others who merely state their disagreement in a respectable way, and that i don't consider hate mail. The other day i received a classic from a Mr. R.

I won't bore you with the full content of the emails, just choice excerpts (he wrote a few times the other day).
He accuses me of being hateful (he had seen my page on Republicans say the darndest things), then says i belong with al queda.

My reply:
"The irony. A hate-filled message about hate. Perhaps you feel frustrated that the Republicans seem to be in for hard times. Suggest you get over it. And get used to it...."

But the zinger is his reply.
"No actually I am an independent idiot. Of course that tells me just what I need to know...." (he then takes offense that I suggested his messages should be considered a "hate" message).

My reply was just too easy:
"I am an independent idiot."
Of this I have no doubt, Mr. R.
Take Care,
Tom

Lesson: Sentence structure is very important in clear communication.
