Is Ney Cooperating, Naming Repub Names, To Cut His Prison Sentence?
Surely Bob Ney knows where most of the bodies are buried. He is actively trying everything in the arsenal to cut down on the Government recommended sentence of 27 months imprisonment. He has gone into alcohol rehab.

Is he wearing a 'wire' or calling Repubs using 'tapped' phones to help gather info on other Repubs?

He is bound to have a treasure trove of information to use in making a good deal on the incarceration portion of his sentence.

Based on past experience, this just seems logical.

If I were Rove, I would be afraid.... very afraid of what the future holds.

1. It's A Nice Scenario, But More Likely, Ney Is Going Through Grief Stages
and hasn't hit the "revenge" or "stool pidgeon" stage yet.

2. Well the time to cooperate is now, while it can still help him, not later
His attorney has explained this to him, I am sure.

Cooperation and material assistance to the Government in prosecuting other defendants is a mitigating factor for purposes of reducing the sentence of incarceration. Once the sentence is entered against him, it has substantially less power to reduce the sentence of incarceration once it is officially imposed.

I think Ney is filling in the 'holes' that Abramoff did not have personal knowledge of, and he is another source to confirm what Abramoff has been giving them. US Attorneys love to have multiple sources to present incriminating evidence to a jury. And once a couple of defendants 'come in', it usually becomes a parade of other defendants to cut the best deal they can as quickly as possible.

3. The GOPhers would be avoiding him like the plague.
After Cunningham (allegedly) wore a wire, even the dimwitted Repukes like Hayworth would avoid him. They're all back home cockroaching their 'base' now anyway.
