1. Clinton gets no bouquets from me. freepers might defend jr on every
shitty deal regardless of how stupid, but when Bill screwed up -and he did, I didn't mind saying so.

4. Well, our lack of doglike devotion and cultlike obedience
to all leaders, present or past is what distinguishes us from Freepers.

Yeah, I had little use for Clinton until he stood up to the bullies on the right and refused to resign over something that had no bearing on his job and wasn't any of their damned business to begin with.

It was his finest hour.

8. Still, you have to admit..
..he *was* probably the best Republican president of the last 50 (or so) years. ;)

16. Clinton would not have had the "opportunity "to kill lots of Iraqis
:eyes: if Bush Sr had done his job and got rid of Saddam during the first Gulf War, but hey? Who imposed the sanctions against Iraq? And pResident War Monger is NOT done killing Iraqis, is he? All trails/crimes lead back to the BFEE, do they not?

5. Truth should prevail over party lines
Even if it's ugly.

I don't' want to defend Clinton (Mr or Mrs) if he did wrong. I simply won't apologize for him.

6. Who said Cindy Sheehan was a Democrat? She is a symbol of
the war and not a political tool for either party.

11. She is on the advisory board of the Progressive Democrats of America
Isn't a guarantee that she's a registered Dem, because PDA works with all progressives, in and out of the party.

13. I think she is entitled to denounce any pro-war dem or rep
She has been tough on Hillary too, but then so have we here at DU. Yes, Bill is a hero to many here, but he certainly can't be called a progressive democrat. He was a Dick Morris Democrat with lots of charisma.

14. Well he continued Bush I's policy, while defending himself from the
Radical Rabid Right Wing. With the Radical Rabid Right Wing trying to bite his nuts off, with every move he made, he also refused to launch PNAC. After what happened to JFK, who knows what would have happened if he actually ended sanctions and brokered a genuine peace deal with Iraq.

Now, whether he is keeping close to the BFEE for the sake of the country or just being chummy, remains to be seen.
