"Whether the traitorous Democrats or the virtuous Republicans prevail "
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 12:28 PM by nini
My head is going to explode. This is the most insane op-ed I have ever seen in this paper, and it's had some doozies.

I can't even begin to address this moran since so much bullshit is crammed into one article.

:puke: :puke:

http://www.dailybreeze.com/opinion/articles/4424591.html

This may be the most important election in a generation. Whether the traitorous Democrats or the virtuous Republicans prevail could influence this country for years to come.
By Stan Katten

Nov. 7 will bring one of the most important national elections in recent times, possibly in the entire history of America. The future of the nation's security, economy and its culture could well rest on the outcome of this usually mundane midterm election.

One contestant is the Democratic Party, which has been taken over by socialists who dislike America and capitalism. The other is the Republican Party, with a few moderates who frequently join with the Democrats and use the filibuster to impose minority control of the Senate, requiring 60 instead of 51 votes to pass legislation.

Republicans, independents and moderate Democrats should ignore the "October surprises" -- the Mark Foley revelation, the generals' revolt and Bob Woodward's new book, In Denial.

These anti-Republican or anti-Bush developments somehow happened a few weeks before the election. We must keep foremost in mind the real and vital issues: national security, the economy and the societal values that the Democrats are striving to obscure.

Rosemary and Olive Oil!

The Daily Quease has outdone itself. It reads like an Onion piece. Or a John Birch tract. "VIRTUOUS Republicans"??? *head explodes like a North Korean nuke*

Yeahhhhh... like the goddamned Republicans have done so much for our economy, security, and values. :eyes:

Taliban resurgence.

Iraqi insurgence emergence.

Outsourcing and falling wages, with increasing retirement ages.

Healthcare costs on the rise, quality declining, no surprise.

Increased risk of terror at home because of the war.

Sexual predators of minors in Congress by a whore.

Torture defined as "tough rules" by the "liberal media" of the L.A. Times, whose downfall is one of the great crimes.

Habeas Corpus treated like a stripper at Duke University, with unabashed perversity.

Housing bubbles and debt troubles.

I could go on, but the sheer lunacy and psychotic authoritarian-influenced denial of this Stan Katten shithole speaks for itself, like a giant fart bubble emanating from his piehole.

Fuck you, Torrance Daily Disease, and fuck that columnist (forgot his name, he is such a non-entity) who called me out because I dared mock the toilet paper that provides his meager paycheck. What a whore. I hope Katten gives him herpes of the rectum.

4. Foley is virtuous?!
:wow:

Talk about narrowmindedness; there is nothing wrong with capitalism. It's when things go out of control that's bad. And maybe there is a long-term goal with globalization, but nobody in a position of power has said WHY. All that does is have people conjuring up their own answers. What's wrong with stating the case?

11. Foley will be just as soon as he is allowed to push his index finger
...up the ass of the Miami Catholic priest who fondeled him when he was a helpless and timid teenager who then went on to finish college become a successful Florida business owner, city commissioner, Vice Mayor, Florida State Representative and Florida State Senator and then to serve five successive terms as U.S Congressmen. Boy, it really messed up Foley's life and career, didn't it?

<snip>
FOLEY, Mark A., a Representative from Florida; born in Newton, Middlesex County, Mass., September 8, 1954; graduated Lake Worth High School, Lake Worth, Fla.; attended Palm Beach Community College, Lake Worth, Fla., 1973-1975; business owner; Lake Worth, Fla., city commissioner, 1977; vice mayor, Lake Worth, Fla., 1983-1984; member of the Florida state house of representatives, 1990-1992; member of the Florida state senate, 1993-1995; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourth and to the five succeeding Congresses until his resignation on September 29, 2006 (January 3, 1995-September 29, 2006).

22. You Don't Need A Memo!
You have the whole thing down.

1) You have to be a socialist! Check
2) You have to hate capitalism! Check
3) You have to hate America! Check

See how easy this is!

You can have your own reasons for 1, 2, & 3. But, you have to agree to those as well.

That way, the simpleton who wrote that LTTE gets to be right and keep everything black and white so he can comprehend everything in his own extraordinarily tiny mind.

and though he has a crappy opinion, it's still just an opinion. Unsavory as it is, the newsrag is fully justified in printing this tripe. I only hope to hell some SOCAL residents send in a counter opinion, and that the alternative view gets printed as well.

23. What Is The Paper's Obligation To Truth
There are three factual errors in that letter. Not the least of which is the name of the Woodward book he describes as the dems' October surprise. (So, two errors in the same sentence.)

The paper can and should print reader opinions. Should they print those in which outright errors exist?

25. Yeah, well
There's informed opinion that contributes to constructive discourse, and then there's psychotic and ignorant tripe like his which makes a mockery of the marketplace of ideas.

None of us are saying he doesn't have the First Amendment right to express his dumbass opinion, nor are we saying the paper is wrong for printing it. We're just stunned at the sheer psychotic power of it and must express ourselves accordingly so that we can prevent scraping the remains of our exploded heads from our monitors.

29. You know, I just tried to pen a response
but how can you when every line is a complete fabrication?

I wonder if the best thing to do would be just ignoring the piece, and submit a positive message, with a short preamble, adressing the newspaper's right to print opinions tempered by a responsibility to present truth and balance.

A brain-dead ignoramus, and a sucker.
And that is your right, Stan Katten.

I happen to agree with you, Stan Katten, when you say "Nov. 7 will bring one of the most important national elections in recent times, possibly in the entire history of America." But for very different reasons. Stan Katten, I'm not even going to try to explain to you what those reasons are, because it's clear that you've got your head so far up your ass, that you wouldn't be able to hear me!

Ain't America wonderful, Stan Katten? A place where you can make an complete fool out of yourself, and I can call you on it?
