Rep. Nancy Johnson (R-CT) may be learning that lying doesn't pay.

Johnson, who six weeks ago led Democrat Chris Murphy by 14 points, now trails Murphy by four points, according to a new Hartford Courant-University of Connecticut poll.

1. Local news also reported this, along with
the news that the New Haven Register had endorsed LIEberman.

WCBS - AM (Newsradio 880) was reporting (Fran Schneidau - CT bureau chief) that response to Schlesinger has been positive after his showing in the debates, and that it appeared to be drawing some support away from LIEberman. No new polls, though. Latest is the one were Joe was up by 17 over Ned.

4. the tide is definitely turning
Johnson didn't help herself with fact-challenged attacks. Murphy's position on FISA is shared by 77% of Americans.

5. The Courant had a big headline a few weeks back...
...about how Murphy's ad on the young child that had the medical problem was fact-based. That was the one where Johnson ignored the mother's plea to help, saying that she was not in the business of helping just one person (or something cold like that)
