Out a CIA agent tracking loose nuclear material, then post on the web how to make A bomb
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 12:35 PM by me b zola
Take a moment just to think about these two outrages by the bush* administration, both committed for political benefit, each by themselves put US security at risk. Then consider how together they are devastating.

First was the outing not only of NOC CIA officer, but her front company as well. The result of this action of the bush* administration was to take down an entire operation that took years to develop that was tracking loose nuclear material. How much nuclear material is exchanging hands with no one knowing where it is going?

Now the posting of detailed instructions of how to create an nuclear bomb. What may have taken ten+ years for some states to develop on their own has now been given to them freely by the bush* administration.

Now consider how these bush* administration actions become so much worse because the other exists. It is not only States that can utilize the information that bush* has published for all the world to see, but terrorist groups as well. Valerie Plame's work was important all by itself, tracking loose nuclear material and keeping it from falling into the hands of terrorists. Now with Plame's entire operation dismantled, not only does the probability of terrorist gaining access to nuclear material increase, but they now have the knowledge to do more damage if they acquire nuclear material.

Now for the icing on the cake. Both of these horrible actions by the bush* administration were done purely for political reasons.

Do you feel safer now?

WE CANNOT TRUST NATIONAL SECURITY TO REPUBLICANS.

13. I absolutely believe that the actions of the bush* admin are treasonous
A couple was put to death for giving away nuclear secrets, I see the actions of the bush* administration/gop much graver.

8. Defilitely LIHOP. The ReNAMBLAcans are too stupid to be able to
MIHOP, but if they give terrorists the tools, THEY are smart enough to figure out how to pull it off.

I'm not a big fan of the death penalty, but I sure have to think long and hard about it being perfectly appropriate for this level of treason in wartime. And yes, I think Bush ORDERED the outing of Plame AND the posting of the instructions.

12. I lean toward LIHOP too. And I agree with you about the treason
and that * ordered the outing and the posting.

I'm not sure I would say that they are "too stupid" for MIHOP but rather with LIHOP there is less liability on their part; you know, it's less likely to come back and bite them in the ass. I think that they are working with the "enemies" and by doing this they get the word out.

5. Remember, we're not permitted to see al Qaeda propaganda ...
... because it's dangerous. After all, they might be passing 'signals' and 'codes.' God Bless the GOP - who just leave the nuclear engineering secrets in Arabic and then post them on the Web for the mere 1 billion people who can read Arabic. (Fucking corrupt imbeciles!)

9. I found that information in the public library when I was 15
and reading my way through it. Building a bomb isn't all that difficult and the information has been out there since many Los Alamos records were declassified decades ago.

The hard parts are creating and assembling the materials.

Although putting the info on the web on an official, government site was stupid beyond belief, the information has been out there for a very long time.

14. From what I understand
about the info released, it contained the refined methods and lessons learned from experimentation. The Manhattan Project was huge and compartmentalized, the release was of basic info and was a propaganda effort to ease the fears of some Americans that the complexity of such weapons would prevent a complete world wide dominance by the US.

The stuff you and I read does not interest the IAEA in the slightest, it was a basic overview. This was a blueprint.

discredited by experts. In fact, the secrets divulged were more detailed than anything else previously available, and in Arabic no less!

According to the expert this is "abosolute non-sense... nothing like what the NY Times describes <has ever been available>...a roadmap for terrorists on how to build the bomb."

22. Another fact that makes this even more obscene
When the IAEA plead with the bush* administration to take down the most outragious documents they were ignored. It took the NYT to expose this before the bush* admin to take down the website. Then, as only this corrupt group of thugs would do, they blame the NYT for exposing them! In-freaking-credible.

a small group meeting at a freshman orientation and proudly tell everyone in the room that their kid got into college because of their political connections, you know there's something amiss.

23. we cannot trust national security to corporations
They defend their own interest ruthlessly against the hand that pulls the lever.

To make an A-bomb, divide a populace using mendacious media negativity, and watch
it implode in to self loathing.
