If we're handing out credit, I want to thank Ned Lamont.
Ned may not have won his own race last night, but I feel he deserves a great deal of credit for the Democratic victories across the country.

Ned showed a national audience that an anti-war, anti-establishment candidate could knock off a powerful incumbent;

Ned's primary victory started a national debate about the merits of Bush's Iraq War;

Ned proved that netroots and grassroots campaigns can still work in this country.

Ned's loss was the result of circumstances peculiar to Connecticut and to this election, which I hope to write more about in a few days. But Ned has nothing to be ashamed of, and everything to be proud of.

While we're celebrating a great day for Democrats, please give a little credit and thanks to Ned Lamont.

THANK YOU NED!

2. After years of voting like a Repuke, LIEberman finally forced Repukes to spend their own money...
to get him elected.

3. Joe may have won the vote, but Ned won the conversation

Ned Lamont was one of the catalyzing forces in this election. It took massive Republican cross-over voting for "Joementum" to keep his seat. And if this is the start of a new Democratic era, it is likely to be Lieberman's last term.

Three cheers for Ned Lamont. May we keep his name on our lips.

4. I agree on that
I think Lamont's victory was a signal to Democrats across the nation to be more vocal in their criticism of Iraq & the war management of Team Bush. I noticed that the anti-war talk definitely stepped up a notch after the primary victory by Lamont.

Now, just keep our fingers crossed for Joe Courtney.

6. You are exactly right
Bernie Ward said same thing last night

You know what I think the Dem establishment (incumbents) never helped Lamont after the primary. As far as I know, and I may be entirely wrong, but the only Dems I see that campaigned for Lamont were Edwards, Kerry and Dodd. Where was Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and any of them. I think the incumbents didn't like the uppity Dem primary voters - voting out one of their own and it DISGUSTS me.

We have several Dems in the Senate that have GOT TO GO - I live with one of them here in FL. I want both my country back and my party back....but how can we when we try to get rid of them through primaries this kind of shit happens. I hope holy Joe LIEberman hasn't set a precedent and his actions don't discourage folks from taking on incumbents in primaries. Winning a Senate seat or house seat is not a life long appointment

Joe LIEberman makes me sick and as happy as I am about yesterday this event makes me very sad.
