Poll question: Real Simple Poll: Do you believe bush has acted in a criminal way?
I do. And yet there he is looking over your library records, wiretapping, putting you on no fly lists, making you get more and more permission to travel - all because you MIGHT do something criminal.

He is watching you like a hawk. One slip up, off you go.

Give him a pass because it may mean we lose some votes (ie, acting and living in fear)? Hell no.

He wouldn't hesitate (and hasn't) to nail you on something. Why do we hesitate?

1. No F-ing Doubt about it!
October 17, 2006,Will be remembered as the Enabling day of the 21st Century!
"The government will make use of these powers only insofar as they are essential for carrying out vitally necessary measures..."
~Adolf Hitler, March 23, 1933, before the German Parliament (Reichstag) as he urged them to pass his "Enabling Act"

Fascism Accomplished!

2. war criminal and domestic criminal....
George Bush should be behind bars, not in the oval office. Every minute that he occupies the presidency is a dark time for America.

in his reaction to the attack of 911 is grounds. He has broken more laws than we can keep track of otherwise.

"He wouldn't hesitate (and hasn't) to nail you on something. Why do we hesitate?"

Bush MUST be impeached.

6. Of course he has and we all know it, but can we prove it?
The wheels of justice turn slowly. Took us six years to stick it to him, didn't it? Patience.

The new Dem majority hasnt even taken their rightful places yet. I think the least we can do for them is allow them the space to formulate what is the best, and most likely to be successful, approach.

They WILL investigate, and my personal belief is that, once the results of the investigations have been made public, there will be a real cry for impeachment.

We wouldnt want to jump too soon, though, without enough material evidence, and make asses of ourselves like the Republicans did in the '90's, now would we???

11. I am all for investigating first, need that of course
but I also want to stress - We need to investigate - it should be apparent that something wrong was done. And if crimes are found, impeach.

Should we run about yelling to impeach? no, not until we have a solid case to present - but we should make it well known we will investigate and take appropriate action. People have died, en masse, and the trail leads back to the whitehouse.

12. I agree with everything you've said
I think my greater point, though, was patience.

We just won the elections two days ago. And only formally took the Senate today.

Seems a lot of DUers want something to be done YESTERDAY, and we dont even take control till January.

22. I think waterboarding should be a part of the 'investigation'
After all, he approves of it as an 'investigation' tool so he can't have any complaints.

Start with Cheney.

10. lying to congress is illegal. starting a war of aggression is a war crime and
torture is a crime against humanity by international law and domestic law.

spying on americans was illegal and needs to be investigated. if they find, like i believe they might, that wiretapping was used for political purposes and not just for 'terrorism' it will again be another lie and grounds for impeachment and criminal prosecution.

they outed a cia agent and destroyed her operation for political gain. again illegal and grounds for impeachment and criminal charges.

there is election fraud and rigging and I havent even gotten to 9/11 incompetence, lihop or mihop yet.

its only just beginning. all the rocks should be turned over to expose the slimy creatures to the light.

14. Yes Indeed!
They went after clinton for pretty much nothing, and I will be damned if we should ignore all that bush has done.

Investigate, get the facts, and then let that drive where we go. Not the worry over how others may interpret it.

19. In *my* mind, yes.
But I think *he* believes he hasn't done a thing.... That everything he has done was "necessary". It is like the insanity plea - - If the person charged doesn't understand, does that still count as a criminal act?

Of course, that flies in the face of the "Ignorance is not a good defense" stuff....

Truth be told, I think B*** is an idiot who was led down the garden path by others smarter than him - - and I'd rather go after those "others" first. But yeah, I'd like to see some heat applied to B*** because even dumb ones can't skate away from things like suspending habeus corpus, no matter how urgently they believe it is necessary....

Can we get the subpeonas for Cheney et al first and *then* serve B***? That would sit better with me.... B*** couldn't help being overpowered intellectually by them....

20. Bush HAS acted illegally...
more than he's acted legally. He and his crew of neo-fascist flunkies have easily spent more time figuring out ways to circumvent (subvert) the Constitution than they have trying to find ways to "fight Tara" legally. Which they could have done.

They have acted out of fear of discovery, and have even pushed legislation through congress that will retroactrively make their crimes "legal." I don't believe that such a thing is even remotely legally possible.

These creeps ALL need to be investigated and charged appropriately, and THEN impeachment becomes an obvious requirement. Even without any oral sex taking place.

23. I definitely consider many of his actions illegal
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 12:16 AM by Mr_Spock
...though I am able to separate this knowledge from the political calculations involved in impeachment.

Let's get the evidence - if it overwhelmingly supports our contention that he is a criminal, then let's impeach AND convict him in the Senate. I want enough evidence to convince Republicans to convict him in the Senate - I don't want to do it for political reasons like the Republicans did - that makes us no better than them.

24. agree with that
We need evidence, so I hope we look for it instead of blowing it all off. The first step though is agreeing that there is a problem and getting people to pursue investigations. if the dems don't do that, I will be deeply saddened (as many bloggers and others have spent a lot of their own time and money investigating things and it looks pretty bad already).

25. It would be devastating if we did not investigate
Part of the ending the Iraq war vote included finding out how we were manipulated into this mess so it can't happen again.

If Bush can be shown criminally negligent in this effort, they he MUST be impeached.
