Tell James Carville You Support Howard Dean's 50 State Strategy
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 04:06 PM by demwing
And that you reject corporatism, cynicism, cronyism, and Carvillism.

James Carville says Dems swept up in the mid-terms DESPITE Dean's strategy. He says Dean should be replaced by Ford, the losing candidate from Tennessee.

I say we should all send an email to Carville, and let him know what we think of his nonsense.

Write Carville here:

james@carville.info

Get a friend to write him as well. Lets bury this fucker's inbox with support for Dr. Dean.

I thought I heard you say that the Democratic party won in spite of Dr. Deans 50 state strategy. Are you serious? How many of those races would have even been contested if we had followed the failed DLC strategy of "Targeting strategic races"? Please get on the air and apologize NOW to Dr. Dean.

4. Carville called his wife on Election night,
and told her that Kerry was going to contest. Matalin let Rove and Bush know, and the rest was (sadly) history.

I no longer trust Carville. I used to, but I don't anymore. And I think Donna Brazille (sp?) sold Kerry down the river, too.

We all really need to get behind Howard Dean and make certain he remains our Chairman.

38. The ramifications can't be known -
They may have been nothing or they may have triggered some still undetected cheating in Ohio.

The inference I see is that Carville could well have passed other internal Kerry stuff to Bush. If he had no loyalty then, I doubt he had any before.

Could the Clinton people that were added to Kerry's general election campaign have been an overall negative. His primary campaign was brilliant. (Remember that if it were not for Cleland, Lockhart would have had the Kerry campaign in the middle of the Rather Tang scandal. )

The resurgence of the Democratic Party is because of the hard work and the tireless efforts of Dr. Howard Dean and his 50-State Strategy.

Without him, we'd still be listening to the nasty chastisements and snide propaganda and slanders of the republican party and it's horribly corrupt membership.

Thank you Dr. Dean.

16. My love letter to him:
Mr. Carville,

I knew in late 2003 that you were out to get Howard Dean and I knew why. He was muscling in on your territory – telling Democrats what to do. And horror of all horrors – they were actually listening to him instead of you. Now that you’ve become obsolete in a party that has been reinvigorated by Dr. Dean’s commitment to winning on every level, you’ve shown yourself to be just what we – the rank and file Democrats – knew you to be: a petulant child who can’t stand losing.

How many times must you be proven wrong about him, his ability to raise money or his ability to lead this party before you will just slink away into your much deserved obscurity? For the sake of our party, just go ahead and go now and take the rest of the damn DLC with you.

17. Dean responds to Carville via Karen Finney of the DNC
DEAN RESPONDS Via TNR, Howard Dean spokeswoman Karen Finney emails the following in response to James Carville's comments below:

After the Republicans have admitted to a thumping, why is it that the only one complaining on the Democratic side is James Carville, who today in addition to trashing Howard Dean, praised the RNC, the outfit that brought us the racist ad that defeated Harold Ford, James' supposed candidate for Chair? Perhaps he's not aware that under Dean in this midterm election the DNC has raised record cash --- all hard dollars -- including three times as much from major donors, eight times as much online and made a $30 million investment in the '06 cycle, three times as much as the DNC put into the last midterm. Not to mention we made an $8m overhaul of our voter file which was successfully used in 47 states and through the 50 state strategy invested in states like Pennsylvania, Kansas, Indiana and Montana where we had critical victories on Tuesday.

Mr. Matalin,

I'm dropping you a line to let you know that I find your comments concerning Howard Dean reprehensible. Dean put forward a strategy that the old school Democrats thought would never work. He weathered the criticism, and pushed forward his vision, working tirelessly for a goal he believed would help Democrats in all states. What was this horrid plan? Dean simply wanted to fight Republicans on every level, in every state. Dean wanted to build grass root support across the country, and take the Democratic party out of the hands of overpaid consultants such as yourself.

No wonder Dean frightens you.

On November 7th, Dean's berated vision was gloriously exonerated. Your vision, the same vision that saw us lose several elections, should forever be laid to rest. It is, in fact, a lack of vision, and a recipe for continued failure. Dr. Howard Dean has done more for the Democratic party than a hundred James Carvilles ever could.

Know that any financial support I set side for the Democrats will be directed to the DNC that Howard Dean built. I will never give a single cent of my hard earned cash to any so-called Democratic group that supports you, or your bitter cronyism.

Do the right thing and apologize to Howard, or let the chips--and donations--fall as they may.

Dear Mr. Carville;

Have you lost your mind? What is your problem dude? Won't Mary give you any?
Howard Dean breathed new life into our party. Why do you want to screw that up? Is it that Howard is stingy with consultant jobs that you feel should go to you?

Look, if you don't apologize, say you are sorry and make nice, then I'm gonna write the TV shows you appear on, ask them for a schedule so I can miss when you go on the air to bash Democrats.

There are a lot more small name Democrats than big name Democrats, and we like what Howard is doing. He's a winner! We like winners. Forget that at your own risk.

52. My letter:
Dear Mr. Matalin: In a victory of such historical import and proportions as we Democrats experienced last Tuesday there is surely enough credit to go around. Therefore, I don't mind a bit if you give SOME credit to Rahm Emanuel, despite him expensively betting on some (sadly) losing candidates such as Tammy Duckworth and (stupidly?, spitefully?)neglecting funding for some winners such as Jerry McNerney and John Hall. Nor do I mind crediting Sen. Schumer, although he seemed incapable of providing solid counsel to Harold Ford, who shoulda won that race.

Do you also credit Mr. Schumer and Mr. Emanuel with our increased governorships, and with taking over more state legislatures? Do you credit them with strengthening our presence in many formerly red states? Do you credit them with reducing the Republican edge in Get Out the Vote activities? Do you credit them with narrowing the technology gap with the Republicans? Do you credit them with the vastly increased Democratic volunteerism in local campaigns? Do you credit them with better response, communication and co-ordination in many campaigns, from local to national? I would think that such illogic is a stretch even for, say, an aide to Dick Cheney.

No, Howard Dean's performance was critical to all of the issues in the previous paragraph. Therefore, I would suggest that you not mess with success, don't try to fix it if it isn't broken, and think before you speak.

"James Carville...your time's up. We're done with you. Go away. You're creeping us out, and not just with your looks.

Carville wants to get rid of Howard Dean and replace him with Harold Ford. I've nothing against Ford. But I do have a problem with the man who helped come up with Democratic election strategy in 1994, and who now wants us to think that Dean's win wasn't big enough.

Carville has become an official member of JLAS -- the Joseph Lieberman Asshole Society."
