Why is there no Dean/Schumer blood feud right now?
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 05:32 PM by theboss
If anyone is being left out of the "Who gets the credit" discussion, it's Mr. Chuck from New York.

Let's take a quick look at his accomplishments over the last two years.

1. Won re-election in NY by approximately 108 percent during a year in which Democrats fared poorly.
2. Found himself an apprentice in Barack Obama, who is probably going to end up the face of the party within the next four years.
3. Has apparently gotten along splendidly with Hillary! who only won her race last week by approximately 109 points.
4. Headed up the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which only picked up six seats and won control of the Senate.
5. In helping to win the Senate, apparently played every hand perfectly including making Santorum the top priority, picking McCaskill in Missouri, pushing out Hackett for Brown in Ohio, endorsing Webb early in Virginia, helping save Menendez' bacon in NJ, rushing money to Maryland, and getting the win in Montana.
6. The only failure in all of this was Ford's campagin in TN, which was nonetheless historic.

Am I crazy or do an awful lot of people in the Senate now owe Schumer an awful lot? Isn't he suddenly the Democrat with the most chits to call in?

1. Million Buck Chuck's contributions and efforts have gone unnoticed
by no one.

He wouldn't have it any other way.

What we also forget is how he intimidated potential Republican challengers into deciding not to challenge Democrats in red states this year.

4. And Nebraska and North Dakota.
Schumer dropped a million bucks into Nebraska and scared the shit out of the would-be Republican challenger.

6. Rahm E. and Schumer engineered the election brilliantly
"Schumer, Emanuel Engineer Party's Win

By DEVLIN BARRETT and CHRISTOPHER WILLS
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Excuse the fathers of the Democrats' improbable success _ Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Rahm Emanuel _ if they do a bit of chest-thumping, high-fiving and strutting."

Who defines what is the base of the Democratic Party. It's a very big tent with probably most Democrats thinking of themselves as the base.
By the way, I think you need to take a look at the rules about dissing fellow Democrats.
