GA Private School : Two students expelled over bomb
Two students expelled over bomb at U.S. school

(AP) - SAVANNAH, Georgia-Two private school students have been expelled for their role in a bomb scare at the school.

The incident at The Savannah Country Day School involves a small bomb that one student made and then passed to another student.
...
The case has gained attention because school officials waited a day last week to notify police about the bomb. The boy who made it said he used a firecracker, gunpowder, BBs and metal shavings.

3. And this is reported in 'findlaw' and not the Atlanta Journal? WHY?

8. It was in AJC on turkey day.
Buried real deep.

I grew up in Savannah and it caught my eye.Sav. Country D.S. is one of the schools that rich freeps send their kids to in order to keep them from having contact with people of color.I was not surprised in the least when I saw what school it was.

5. I have heard that it was "not operational"
In other words, it was not a working or properly designed device. The firecracker as an igniter would in most cases not provide an effective "spark". I do not know any details regarding the rest of the device.
The main story is what it usually is in these cases: the coverup. The administrator did not want to call the police and risk the integrity of the school. In the coverup however, he has shown that the school is more concerned with appearance than safety.

Ya gotta love the south.

Dave in Savannah.

14. It was quite "operational"-- from the link in the OP:

Bonnell said Tuesday that he should have called police immediately, the Savannah Morning News reported Wednesday.

He said that while he was initially told the bomb had to be lit to explode, "we now know by being shaken or moved it could have gone off."
