The left has been wrong for so long that no knowledgeable observer even expects its pontificators to be right. I do not believe many members of the left expect to be right. Yet after all these decades of erroneous pronouncements the American left remains both intellectually and morally superior to you and me.... The American left is the only intellectual force in Western history to gain moral superiority by being wrong. In world history I can think of only one other movement that has gained moral and intellectual superiority in this way, the mullahs of Islamic fundamentalism.

2. The problem is far greater than one movement or one ideology.

It's the general idea that people are willing to make decisions which affect others based upon abstract notions or arbitrary reasons, which have no basis in reality or logic.

There are the wacko ALF and ELFers, they risk killing humans to keep people from killing animals.

There are the anti-government conservatives, they have actually killed 168+ Americans, supposedly because the government was a big bogey monster going to take away their guns. Well no fucking wonder, you're too fucking crazy to own a gun.

There are the religious conservatives, whether Christian, Islamic or Jewish, they don't just want people to figure out religion for themselves, they want to force their particular belief in God on everyone else, even other Christians, Muslims or Jews who might worship just slightly differently.

And finally, there are the extreme-anti-terrorist conservatives, the ones who in the process of stopping terrorism, are willing to risk killing America by making it more like our enemy.


People feel, they do not think. Political ads are not about introducing people to new ideas or perspectives, but are solely designed to make someone feel a certain way about a candidate.

We listen to commentators on television, they tell us how we should think.

And the news? Ha! It's so full of shitty un-important junk, it numbs the mind. Of course, there is never a lack of violence or some other horrible thing to cover.

News is a modern day Colosseum. It's not there to inform, it isn't a public service as in the '50s with Murrow and Friendly, it's just entertainment. Entertainment at the expense of human beings and their suffering.

That's what's really wrong with the world you dumb bastard Mr. Tyrell.
