3. If he cared, he wouldn't have cheated on her.
She's one hell of a lady, however. Very forgiving. I hope she didn't acquire any diseases because of his lechery.

And, yes, without knowing any of past events, I would agree - it is a lovely, heartwarming picture. Being in B&W helps add depth to it too.

11. Possibly.
You might be right.

I just wish he hadn't, regardless of any rationalization or moralizing. He helped Bush for Election 2000 as much as Nader had. He gave away free ammo to the political opposition, and politicians love to find any flaw and exploit it. And I don't that ammo mean bullets, his actions gave out free Anti-tank missiles. His actions in turn helped Gore to lose (though there were many factors of Election 2000.

asked if Kurt Russell and she would ever get married, and does she believe in fidelity.

I know at least one of my three husbands cheated, but not this one, my third guy, married to him in 1973.

The first husband and I spent only part of one year together, so I have no idea about him.

37. Do you really accept that excuse?
And if it is what they were "meant" to do, your third husband would naturally have cheated on you also.

No way do I believe any woman would say or think that. You are a man.

Don't know what Goldie Hawn was about, saying that. She could afford to dump the ass of anyone who cheated on her, though.

23. You help seal my point.
You see, different strokes for different folks. These middle-age flings are infamous for rekindling desire in marriages that are 15-20 years in the bag..... For some couples, it is a metamorphosis, a rebirth of sorts.....from the caterpillar into the butterfly. Bill and Hillary appear to of had such an experience.

24. Presumptuous
I think it's a little presumptuous to know what is between two people based on a photograph. We truly have no idea what goes on between Bill and Hillary. Do they love each other? Co-exist for political motives? Secretly despise each other? Who knows. And who knows if George and Laura love each other. It'a really irrelevant to fighting for our political future. Why don't we stick to political discussions and leave the idolatry to TigerBeat and People Magazine. I mean, if I found a picture online of George and Laura sharing a sweet moment together, would all of you suddenly find it heartwarming and tender, and want to save it as your computer's background? I think not.

Politics should be based on more than surface appeal.

27. This one shows a little HUMANITY.
We like to remind ourselves once in a while, with pictures, of what that is. The soulless crap coming out of the BUSH admin doesn't usually give us a chance. So, if you don't mind, Mikey929, let us enjoy ourselves with a dose of humanity. Excuse us for not always posting "important" things.

30. I don't think they'd be so good at "faking it"
Bill and Hillary have often shown affection for each other, and these people aren't actors - I really think that if they detested each other, they wouldn't look so comfortable in each other's presence - it's easy to tell when affection is forced. As for George and Laura, I think their relationship probably isn't as intense as the Clintons' - it's likely less tempestuous, but also less passionate. I think both couples have relationships that defy easy explanations.

33. To what end?
Well put, but to what end? Even if true, what possible difference does it make to the world whether Bill and Hillary have a close marriage? We may as well talk about John Edwards' pretty hair, or Obama's good looks. But then again, we do live in an age where Entertainment Tonight beats out the news broadcasts, so why should it surprise me that some people focus on image.

34. No, no, no, no, no.
Do you subscribe, even a little, to the belief that a photo can show a lot of truth in a moment? This is not at all about being "good looking" or "youthful". It's about affection. It's about warmth and humanity. It's all about enjoyment. I appreciate it, definitely, but I don't consider it "hero worship" in the slightest.

36. No No No
Can a photograph capture a moment? Sure, but there are millions of moments in a person's life. To select one moment and brand that as representative of an entire marriage is presumptuous, wrong-headed and just plain silly. I'm sure one could find many moments in any marriage where the wife is shooting the husband a look that would kill. Would that moment be representative of the entire marriage? Of course not.

Hey, it's a nice picture. I'm not faulting the picture. But to take that one picture and then wax eloquent about how loving a marriage they have is nothing but subjective idolatry. And in the end, it adds absolutely nothing to the discussion of politics.

38. LOL, well, you're right about the "shooting the husband a look that would kill"
because I've seen it between George & Laura. But I think the overall effect of this photo is very, very positive. That's why I have to repeat the word "humanity". No, nobody ever said this particular photo was representative of their entire marriage. But it's a slice of it that's worthy of admiration, if you'll pardon me for that.

:)

Besides, why do flattering pictures of politicians get recommended to the greatest page? It smacks of thoughtless hero-worship. And surely there are more substantive things to which to call each other's attention.

26. So WHAT?
They're attractive & humane. It's a great photo. There's a lot of hell breaking loose in the world and we need a reminder of what affection is. He cheated on her. They made up. Move on. If you want "more substantive things", post on another thread. This is about being positive.

42. Shit in it?
Come on now. Let's be, at the very least, intellectually honest about it.

I liked Clinton on alot of things and didn't like him on others, (Nafta, Gatt, the de-regulation of the media industry are a few that come to mind).

But to put a picture of Bill and Hillary in a loving pose and then GUSH over it like girls at a Beatle concert is pushing it.

The guy was getting blown by his intern and most likely he had a history of having sex out of marriage with other women. Do I care? Not really, what two consenting adults do in marriage, outside of marriage is none of my business...

but don't put them on stage as if Bill and Hill are the pinnacle of a loving committed relationship, that is just silly and to react with such hostility when someone points out the obvious shows you are as much of a "head in the sand", "hero worshipping", "my guy can do no wrong" person as the next Bushite.

the hero worshippers who have their heads in the sand exist on the left as well.

Great president on many issues but to sit here and gush over their relationship when the guy was sticking his dick in an intern's mouth is ridiculous.

LOL...some of these people would tell ya Clinton walked on water...what tools.
