NEW YORK Bloggers are taking differing views about this month's drunk-driving arrest of "Mallard Fillmore" cartoonist Bruce Tinsley.

Joshua Fruhlinger noted on his ComicsCurmudgeon.com blog that the conservative Tinsley (who also had another alcohol-related arrest this summer) has used "Mallard Fillmore" to take swipes at liberal U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) for the politician's past drinking.

"The hypocrisy issue has come up," added Universal Press Syndicate editorial cartoonist Ted Rall on his Rall.com blog. "After all, Tinsley often mocks Ted Kennedy for alleged drunkenness in his strip."
