25. My email to CNN
"Type of error: A deliberate error - identifying a picture of Osama Bin Laden with the caption: "Where's Obama?"
Need I explain it to you in words of one syllable? Obama is a prominent black Democratic Senator. Osama is the 9/11 terrorist Bush allowed to escape from Afghanistan. (Sorry I have a few multisyllable words in there - hope it wasn't too difficult for you to grasp!)"

14. You forgot your sarcasm tag?
You can't be serious. RW corporations OWN the media. Of course this was deliberate. It was a warning shot for Obama...See what we can do to you? They floated the Barak Hussein Obama crap for a few weeks and found out the public wasn't going to put up with it and finally dropped it. This was INTENTIONAL.

33. What is the purpose?
To place the thought of Obama being connected to Osama in the publics mind. If nothing else but to suggest that he is a Muslim and connected to the terrorist. The right wing columnist and talk show host are already suggesting this. And the hand that feeds the CNN is more apt than not to be corporations who are enabled by the present right wing government.

Gee it was only two or three years ago that people were calling talk of voting fraud or errors due to the electronic voting machines as being conspiracy theories, and look at us now. It was three to four years ago that people said we were conspiracy theorist when we suggested bush was going to take us into Iraq. Look at us now. Give me a good conspiracy theory anytime to sitting with our eyes closed and not seeing what is about to smack us square in the face.

48. Further....
You mean that CNN deliberately conspired to snuff out Obama now in order to prevent him from becoming president? That is their goal? They would risk alienating millions of viewers for this? Besides, if the right wing were to conspire against a Dem. candidate, it is most likely to be against the front runner to prop up a candidate with a less favorable chance of winning don't you think? Your eyes wide open approach is admirable, but there is a fine line between that and seeing a "boogy man" behind every corner.

52. the front runner is running alone right now, and so his being in first place means very little.
Also, it is a long time between now and 2008. I will be nice to you, nicer than I think you are being. I do not see a "boogy man" behind every corner, I gave up believing in him the day I gave up organized religion. But I do know that racism still exists in this country. I also know that a white man is preferred by many to be the candidate over one that is a minority or a woman. I also know that some of those who might run for the presidency in 2008 are much more preferable than others to the corporate msm, and if the one they prefer is the front runner, they will protect him by attacking others. I also know that those in power do use the media to put their message of choice out there. These are not conspiracy theories, they are known. So excuse me if I suspect that this might be a convenient "typo" by CNN.

You don't. Well, that is your choice, but don't tell me what I should believe.

53. Sincerely - no offense intended
Caution to those who associate a connection to Him and organized religion - it is no substitute for a personal relationship with Christ. Not once did I tell you what to believe. I genuinely applauded you and pointed out there is a only a thin veil between. Additionally, I suggested that the perceived front runner would most likely be the target of any impropriety. At this point, I think you stand corrected. I agree with everything else you said.

who's a reichwinger. But I think we are all keen to jump to the next step, because FOX News pulled the same trick. They tried to pass Mark Foley off as a Democrat, repeatedly.

I know it's not a typing error, just look at your qwerty keyboard, "s" and "b" aren't even near each other.

I know he reads his emails, because I sent him an angry one some time ago (probably along with a lot of other people) and he mentioned on air that he had emails from pissed off people. He apologized and said he would try to do better. I'll pass on this one, I may be blacklisted from his reading along with some other people that I have contacted over the last few years. B-)

56. The first thing you learn when creating communications
Edited on Tue Jan-02-07 01:14 AM by symbolman
Ads, commercials, and political attack ads especially, is that the public needs to GET the communication even with the SOUND OFF.

This so totally fits that bill, making an unconscious connection, for those even faintly paying attention.

Obviously deliberate, and CNN has been sinking lower and lower as of late, the DEATH COUNTDOWN being so absolutely SICKENING and Disrespectful to the VIEWERS as well, that I've turned them off completely.

Just too fucking NEEDY if nothing else, like cheap sluts, willing to anything to get your attention at all costs.

I had turned them off right after the SELECTION and Refused to watch CNN for nearly two years, then had to with the Iraq Lies being spread, our site forced (along with many folks writing into them), CNN to PUT BACK 750 words they'd stricken from a Hans Blix report that VERY AFTERNOON.

That being the heady days of Takebackthemedia.com working hard (writing a book as of late, so we've not been as active) - but once my book is done and out there, believe me, TBTM is going to go after CNN with a Vengence (don't worry Mr Gonzales, only a boycott or two, no violence from us)..

57. Bushco owns all the media - why does this surprise you?
Edited on Tue Jan-02-07 01:23 AM by shance
They knew they had to steal the media, and over the years, that is what they have done.

In order for us to change this, we have to take our media back LOCALLY, that is the best and most efficient way to do it. We need to be working on it this year while we still have say within our own local governments and city councils.

If we take back the media, we take back the country.

In order to do that we have to do it locally, and nationally by mobilizing in each and every major city. It won't change by some day protest, it will have to be days, weeks, even months.

We need to all be hitting our town halls in mass numbers to demand local ownership of our press and media.

The private oil interests along with other corporate entities all own by rich white males now own all of our media.

That is not right. It is also why we are receiving a significant amount of more biased, racist, misogynistic and overall very skewed media coverage.

Don't let them fool you into believing that what is aired on television is all about ratings. Thats the biggest lie in the book. Look at all the right winged zealots and tell me that is just "ratings".

Uh huh.
