PHOTO: Betty Ford mourns alone, Laura & her monkey husband having hightailed it out of there
Edited on Mon Jan-01-07 07:30 PM by Bluebear
They couldn't wait for Mrs. Ford to convey their condolences to her, evidently. Likely, George was miffed that Ford dissed his war and Laura needed a Marlboro.

====

...Betty Ford, 88, sat with her family for several minutes, observing the changing of the honor guard, before she approached the casket.

The former first lady gently laid her hand on her husband's flag-draped casket and then stood silently in prayer.

Betty Ford's moving gesture came shortly after President Bush and Laura Bush briefly paid their respects to the 38th president.

16. Bill has probably been asked to plan his own funeral--especially after
the heart bypass surgery in 2004. It has to be tough to attend one of these funerals knowing it could be you next.

13. Thanks for the photos
I'm still shocked at the bare minimum that the Chimperor phoned in on the occasion of the death of a former U.S. President. When Reagan died you would have thought the republic party was waiting for Jesus himself to appear on a cloud and take them all away, leaving the rest of us heathens to tough it out.
But this was seemingly a pain in Bush's ass. I guess he an't take the sting of truth coming from a former president. Petulance isn't becoming in a world leader and he showed his little stature in this situation. They are mean people, George and Laura, and they have no manners.

12. We should be fair to the Rhinestone Pigboy and his number one
squeeze. Funerals are sooooooooooo boring, and the pigboy doesn't have the attention span of a four-year-old.

23. I really like Betty Ford
I prefer to think that she wouldn't want the Chimp and the stepford wife hovering around her, in her grief.

24. I'm sure she wouldn't
especially after hearing how uncomfortable the Fords were with the repukes turn to the hard right. I suppose though that when a former President dies it's a given that the incumbent is going to be part of things. If Carter or Clinton died now they would end up with chimp strutting around. :puke:
