If the Chicago UFO is True, then it is a serious National Security Issue,
If all those Airport workers saw that damn UFO hanging out over Airliners, and I find it hard to believe that they could mistake it for anything other than what it appeared to be, an unknown aircraft, NOT a Helicopter OR a Plane, then we've got a Serious National Security Issue here.

I'd personally like to KNOW if there's something or someone out there who can FLY UNDER THE RADAR at one of the Busiest Airport in the US, and Hover OVER aircraft - and if that is possible, then what is to keep them from dropping a bomb on a plane loaded with fuel at a gate there?

Someone needs to answer this bullshit, these ain't no white trash folks out swigging whiskey in the woods, these are professionals that saw this.

To offer the old excuses of Weather balloons, like someone has authority to release weather balloons over and or near a busy airport, is Ludicrous in the extreme.

The american people deserve to know if we are in DANGER, besides I'd like to see Falewell explain if JESUS DIED for the SINS of some Alien from Space, wouldn't that be fun? :)

But this IS a National Security Issue and needs to be dealt with. One thing for there to be swamp gas where there are swamps, but I was raised in Illinois and there ain't NO SWAMPS near Chicago that I'm aware of.

If it IS a secret US craft then this is one hell of an assholish thing to do, but with the cowboy and terrorist games going on, I wouldn't put it past those in power now.

5. Bunch of threads on a sighting in Chicago at O'Hare
right over a gate on election day, seen by MANY Airline workers ON Election day of all times.

It's hitting all the newspapers lately for some reason. The worst part is NO RADER signature AT ALL when supposedly it sat about 12 to 1900 feet OVER PLANES.

I'll find a link, but just Google "O'Hare UFO" and someone's said there are tons of links about it.

This is too blatant for UFOs outside of Mexico city, and is worriesome if so many Pilots saw it, and a DUr was a witness as well.

Like I've told a few friends, I'd never do anything to harm Bush, but if some alien was to aim a death ray in his direction I certainly wouldn't stand in the way.. too much survival instinct I guess you might say :)

A LOVE RAY could work too.. maybe they can reAnimate some of the dead in Iraq, that would be helpful.

Is Wishing that an alien from space would put Bush in Suspended Animation considered cause for the SS to visit you? :)

Get us all the really good genetic information so we can heal the sick. And then get them to fork over on a one-time-only environmental clean up (we take responsibility after that, which I suspect is what this visit is probably about-personal & species responsibility). Then, just for you and me, find out the next long shot trifecta winning combo at Belmont, like really long shot. Maybe get them to outlaw minivans and SUVs (I like to see when I'm driving) and those damn Garfield window stick ons for car windows...stuff like that. You can do it!

Two dudes from outer space land their flyin' saucer in front of a gas station, late one dark and dreary night.

They get out of their ride and walk up to the gas pump and one of them sez..."Take me to your Leader!"

Well the gas pump just stands there and says nothing, so the space dude once again, sez..."Take me to your leader!"

Well, the pump still does not respond, so the alien lad pulls out his space weapon and in a blind rage, he fires his side arm at the still silent gas pump.

The pump explodes in a huge ball of fire and blows the two space critters about two blocks down the street and into an unconscious, bruised and bloody heap, there along side the road.

A short while later, the two space men regain consciousness and the shooter says to the other alien, "Damn, can you believe that shit?"

To which the other alien replies, "You should have known better than to mess with some dude, that can wrap his thang around his neck three times and then stick it in his own ear!"

and those guys aren't exactly idiots(not that the ground people are either). They know how any known aircraft of any type can move. And the object was about a thousand feet up, not ten miles away. That is crazy that this isn't being investigated. How many people have to see something before it gets investigated

49. I think this is a particularly interesting sighting because of that very fact...
and that it may have left proof behind. The hole in the cloud may be visible on a satellite photo. I'm trying to find sources of satellite photos going back to Nov 7, no dice as of yet.

I think it would probably have to be fairly high resolution to find the hole, but it's a real source of evidence, which is totally independent of the observers.

53. lack of radar blip is disappointing, but not unexpected
a) it was sighted at very low altitude and b) some UFOs might not be "physical" but rather a form of projected image which is also interactive in some way. A window into another dimension as it were or a cursor in some giant computer.

That's why they never leave any physical evidence. Does the show you watched on TV leave an artifact? That's just an analogy though, the technology would have to be very advanced, possibly not achievable by humans at this point (however, not ruling it out; obviously no one knows what these things are.) It's a fact that NASA is working on anti-gravity concepts and has working models, so they at least are thinking about it.

We should be busting our buns to find out, not pretend our aviation space is not being breached somehow. They show up on video, so something is happening. What?

26. A DUer was a first hand witness, and reported the sighting on November 7th...
on DU. The news story didn't come out until today. The description in both the DUer's account and the story is the same.

It may not be alien, it may be a science experiment, who the hell knows what it is, but it appears it was something.

These are not liqueured up rednecks, they are airline professionals, all of them are extremely familiar with aviation. In the case of the pilot, extremely extremely familiar.

The pilots also have to have very good eyesight, so it can't be their eyes fooling them. Multiple people were witness to this, so it's not one nutty person seeing something.

Multiple people described a similar shaped object from multiple distances and from multiple angles. So it's probably not some funny type of cloud.

There was no radar signature, but I personally do not know if the radar used at O'Hare is capable of detecting objects that low in altitude. So it may have been metallic.

Weather shows up on radar, or am I watching the PNN Pentagon News Network, instead of the Weather Channel?

Indeed if the Universe IS INFINITE,then there are MILLIONS of them, and again if Infinite then who's to say that our sad little brains can even come up with the Drive or Force possible to span galaxies for a LONG time, while others have already solved it?

I believe there is even an equation that proves the existance of other intelligent life in the Universe.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/01/AR2007010100422.html
CHICAGO -- Federal officials say it was probably just some weird weather phenomenon, but a group of United Airlines employees swear they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped craft hovering over O'Hare Airport last fall.

The workers, some of them pilots, said the object didn't have lights and hovered over an airport terminal before shooting up through the clouds, according to a report in Monday's Chicago Tribune.

The Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that a United supervisor had called the control tower at O'Hare, asking if anyone had spotted a spinning disc-shaped object. But the controllers didn't see anything, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said.

"Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon," Cory said. "That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low (cloud) ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things."...(more)

37. That article is "making fun" out of the sightings.
Why should the controllers be watching what's going on over a terminal? They are watching certain parts of the sky, like flightpaths, not what's going on over a certain gate. And the other article discussed it being day, not night.

51. It could not have been an alien visitor
Modern physics has yet to discover any sort of hypothetical faster-than-light drive, like warp drive or hyperdrive or superluminal drive. That stuff is, currently, relegated to the Land of Science Fiction.

Until some of the high-forehead types figure out some sort of theoretical faster-than-light drive, we're stuck in the sub-c universe, where 'c' is the speed of light.

In order for aliens to get here, they have to accelerate out of their home system, cruise through space, and decelerate into our system. Assuming a reasonable time frame (decades, not millennia), such a ship would have to accelerate at a fairly high rate for most of a year to achieve velocities in the 0.9c range or greater, then flip over and decelerate at a fairly high rate, also for most of a year, to slow back down to intra-system velocities.

Now, I'm the the brightest bulb in the box, but it seems to me that somebody on Earth would have noticed a nuclear fusion or antimatter powerplant with a power output of countless megawatts or gigawatts slashing through our solar system at significant percentages of lightspeed. As in, "Gee, where are all these X-rays and gamma rays coming from? And what's that bright light in the sky?"

I cannot see any way it is possible to decelerate an interstellar spacecraft without generating massive amounts of energy. And that kind of output you can't hide.

52. Calm down.
This stuff is not new, it happens since the stone age. If "they" would want to kill us, they'd have done it by now. I'm not completely sure the phenomenon could be tackled with weapons and technology anyway.

And do you REALLY want to hear Bush declaring war against aliens? That'd be an even bigger money and "human resources" sink than Dumbsh*t's "war on terror".

55. SETI misunderstands the random, blanket static that surrounds us.
It's actually laughter.
