Radical Right Wing Radio talking about DU
I was passing through Richmond today and tuned into WRVA, one of the strongest radio stations. The two Radio Jockeys were discussing a DU article that I had read several days ago. I can't find the article or I would link to it. There was something about "I don't mourn for Saddam, I mourn for America and what we have become. The post was several days ago. It must have taken them a while to figure out something bad to say about it, and keep their stories straight.

These jokers who have the strongest signal in the area were complaining about "the media" not getting out the story of a mayor of an Iraqi town who wrote a letter thanking "God" for the Americans and having been liberated.
I don't get it. They ARE the media and they ARE talking about it, how can they accuse the media of suppressing the story. Maybe the TV Networks and cable news stations are a little suspicious of the "God" part in there instead of "Allah".

I thank you Richmond Dems for holding on to your sanity without the help of Air America. These Lee Brothers did sound like radical right wing hate mongers, accusing someone of being un-American for not worshiping Bush.
They seemed to confuse supporting our troops with supporting Bush's war on Iraq. How original! Gee, where have I heard that before? (sarcasm) Then they broke for the news from of all places, the Fox Network.

1. The Cleveland Area does quet well in supporting
progressive candidats and issues with out the help of a single progressive radio host...

Talk Radio works for them....

I don't fully believe what will work or them wil automatically work for us...

7. I said something similar on another thread; I think a lot of us did
"I reserve my grief for my country and the Iraqis, that my nation has fallen on such dark days and under such leadership as the Neocons".
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=3017045&mesg_id=3017344

There have been a lot of different posts and comments that have wandered all over the map, so those bozos have had a lot to pick and choose from.

4. Not excusing the behavior ...

But the reason they accuse "the media" of suppressing a story when they, the media, are reporting it is similar to the reason people here sometimes criticize the mainstream press of suppressing a story that they just got off CNN or (insert major media website here), or the reason some complain of the way the MSM characterizes their own favorite people and then use the MSM to characterize their least favorite people.

Don't try to understand it. It'll make you crazy. Just accept it and move on.

14. The people of that area don't have a counter voice to balance
The radio talk shows. All they can get is radical right wingers. It is amazing that anyone can actually believe that stuff. (And those believers are the ones that DUers like MidloDem and Underpants have to deal with daily)

11. Who said they were logical?
That is one of the things I find both humorous and frustrating about the Radical right wing. They come up with their own kind of "logic" that doesn't quite make sense. It holds true for some cases but not for others. For example, Pat Robertson didn't believe in divorce. He fired a man in his organization who divorced his wife after she ran off with another man, leaving the employee with the kids and debts. Then Robertson supported Reagan.
It's the Republican way. Hypocrisy.

15. Duh
The fact that everyone knows that is why "Allah" is generally used when discussing the Muslim version of the deity. To translate Allah to God is either talking down to the radio listeners or attempting to manipulate them into thinking of the Mayor as a "God Fearing Christian" when Christian Iraqis are rare these days. They are less safe than anyone else over there.

13. What is their point?
DU is liberal media? DU has as much influence as had Judy Miller's front page fiction in The New York Times?

Excuse me . . . .
