Why has the Ford funeral been so long?
Even for Reagon. Seems like it has been days and days.

2. Because the repubs need to have the attention shifted anywhere
but on the Democratic takeover of Congress. Plus they must try to make a silk purse out of Ford's cow's ear. Apparently if they drag out the funeral long enough and on enough media outlets it will somehow rewrite history and make Gerald Ford a statesman. They are the type of people who love the funeral more than Ford's (or Nixon's or Reagan's, etc.) life because they are in charge of content. To them pomp and circumstance equals a good president.

The repugs do nothing as well as making martyrs out of lame ass repug presidents. I expect when 41 shuffles off this mortal coil they will have to shut down the country for at least a month. And I can only imagine how much white out will be needed to clean up Chucklenuts "legacy."

5. They will say he was "misunderstood"
That it was that damn Cheney's or Rummy's or even Karl Rove's fault. That W wanted to do the changes for the "good" of the country but Cheney(probably assumes room temperature by then) threatened to shoot Barney or something like that.

6. The repukes will have to pay actors to "mourn"
for the chimp. No one in his or her right mind will give a shit when he finally kicks the bucket from a combination of old age and liver failure. And the taxpayer will no doubt be stuck having to pay for a permanent 24 hour guard at his gravesite to keep away the hoards looking to relieve their kidneys on the spot.

8. God, I am so fed up with this Ford coverage.
It's Ford, Ford, Ford 24-7 on cable news, after no mention of him whatsoever by anyone for the past 30 years! (Name one thing he has done since his presidency and you win a prize.) The radio stations are the same way.

I thought it would end today but Scarborough's talking about it now and it sounds like there will be still more tomorrow, as hard as that is to believe.

Maybe once he is actually buried in the actual ground, our long national nightmare will be over.

10. Larry King is continuing...this is weird. Who bought this time. It is truly strange
because Ford has not been present in the least for years Did the WH orchestrate this media thing? To cover for something. GWB announcing the Surge and Sacrifice? To cover the quick lynching? I think it is a good question. What the dickens are they covering? What are they trying to hide?

12. This is how it's done in authoritarian states.
Be it Fascism or Communism, the leaders constantly need to remind you that they are special.
