FBI Details Possible Detainee Abuse

WASHINGTON (AP) - FBI agents documented more than two dozen incidents of possible mistreatment at the Guantanamo Bay military base, including one detainee whose head was wrapped in duct tape for chanting the Quran and another who pulled out his hair after hours in a sweltering room.

Documents released Tuesday by the FBI offered new details about the harsh interrogations practice used by military officials and contractors when questioning so-called enemy combatants.

The reports describe a female guard who detainees said handled their genitals and wiped menstrual blood on their face. Another interrogator reportedly bragged to an FBI agent about dressing as a Catholic priest and "baptizing" a prisoner.

Some military officials and contractors told FBI agents that the interrogation techniques had been approved by the Defense Department, including directly by former Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld.

I can't save Part 2, the PDF file, or at least not by right-clicking and going "save link as." It *acts* like it is saving something, but it only takes a split second, which can't be right on my connection. Hmmm.... When I hover over it, it says it is a PDF. When I save, it saves an HTML called filelink. I'm letting it load in a new tab now, and seeing if I can save it after it loads--which will take a while. Somebody with a faster connection might want to try to get a safety copy.

Edited to say: Got it, all 5M of it. Odd that I had to let it completely load in the browser before I could even *start* saving it, but since I *did* get it, I guess the behavior when I tried to save it directly was just odd web design....

This is part of the excuse campaign: Rummy made me do it, and his General Casey did it.

The white house released these because the chimp is going down, and he wants his fall to be broken by a nice flabby retired thug: Rummy.

Expect more trashing of Rummy until * feels like he's divided and imploded the entire military and government. The Iraq civil war was just a warm up. He's always sqweezed by by setting everyone at each other's throats. Chaos theory.

Except this time, it's all of us against the chimp, and he's too out of touch with reality to know it.

This is a pre-resignation move. He'll finally leave the chessboard when he has no other pieces left to sacrifice.

That's what this week's "Sacrifice" is really about: He'll sacrifice everyone in a pitiful attempt to save himself.
