If we were to hold the little man accountable, strip him from the Presidency,
send him and his hench men to the Hague for War Crimes would that not help immensely with the sectarian violence in Iraq or would it matter not? I want to think it would make a difference.

1. I'm With You.... SOMETHING -- ANYTHING Must Be Done!
I completely lost my cool, my everything! We can't just sit by and let this stuff keep happening. They are playing with Democrats now, HOPING beyond HOPE that they will do something drastic (which needs to be done) just so THEY CAN CALL THEM "cut & runners!"

People, we are being had and it gets worse each day. When is enough, enough??

20. we are being played for fools. They have no respect for us, our troops,
our laws, Constitution and the list goes on and on. Now they want to escalate the war, after 3,003 troops have died, 22,000 wounded, and they want more death and destruction by sending out 20,000 these are Americans they are killing haven't they killed enough, 9/11 they orchestrated that, Katrina, Afghanistan, Iraq and possibly Iran. These are truly madmen.

7. I understand
but the very term "sectarian violence" tells us what it is - and it's not going to go away anytime soon, regardless of whether or not Bush is in the White House.

That's why this war was so ill-conceived from the outset - I felt then, and I was proven right, that once we go in, there is NO good solution. I think the eventual, inevitable result will be a tri-partite partition of Iraq. But it's going to take many years and many thousands of deaths before that happens.

8. I've Worked Myself Up Into A Major Migraine Here!
I live in District 13, you know Christine Jennings/Cruella/ Vern Buchanan! Been trying to work at the local level to be helpful!

Now I say SCREW IT! I'm just so extremely pissed and I don't see too many people all that upset about this! It's like we've just grown used to it and keep letting stuff happen. Well the shit hit the fan a VERY LONG TIME AGO, and America's name has turned to MUD!

Oh, I'm just raving on, and I too HAD ENOUGH back in 2000! I STILL hear stuff from idiotic people asking me IF people in Florida know how to vote!!! I need to take some medication right now to calm myself, I'm really really torqued! I was diagnosed with OCD back in 1996 so you can imagine... luckily I have prescriptions that will help me out, but DAAAHUUUM I can't even put into words what I'm thinking. They would arrest me for sure!

10. I So Wish Some Of His "Bad Karma" Would Come Back And
bite him, almost anywhere!! I think I had better slow down or they will come an get me!

I didn't think IMPEACHMENT was the way to go, now I want them to do ANYTHING to rid us of him! I don't think I've ever had such loathing for a person in my entire life! Already I switch channels even if I "hear" his voice! Yes, I AM going bonkers!

I think NOW is a good time to take my labrador for a walk. It's been very very warm here in Florida lately and the night is much cooler! She will love it, and I think I NEED it!

5. It would be nice to think so, but I doubt it would help at all.
There was a reason we groomed and empowered a strong man dictator for that cobbled together nation. It is not really a nation, it is three diverse populations thrown together for some geo-political expediency. Not unlike Yugoslavia, held together by the will of Tito.

The western powers think they can go shuffling the map about for their own reasons and disregard native populations at great peril. That is why they install the tyrants to hold the masses together in shared fear. Problem is, when the strong man falls, the ensuing power vacuum sucks in oxygen to the smoldering feuds and repressed aggression between the peoples explode.

11. The era of the USA as an "honest broker" in the Middle East is over.
We're now facing decades of deeply-entrenched and widespread hostility from the entire spectrum of Arab/Islamic peoples - from Sunni to Shiite. Far too many years of supporting brutal regimes in Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia among others coupled with the abominations of corporatist neocolonialism we've now perpetrated in Afghanistan and Iraq have created a debt that will be long and difficult in paying. Those hostilities will thus be an 'excuse' (national security, don'tcha know) to maintain a muscular military presence, come hell or high water. The only way this can be ameliorated, imho, is by an unambiguous repudiation of the crimes of the Cheney/Bush regime ... impeachment, removal, prosecution, and imprisonment. It seems to me that's a prerequisite for any significant military withdrawal from Iraq. The internecine strife in Iraq has been long bottled-up and ready to explode. The brain-damaged fixation of the Cheney/Bush cabal to install absentee Iraqi stooges (just like the former Conoco executive now 'leading' Afghanistan - or at least Kabul) as a client state government has only exacerbated the secular/sectarian multi-dimensional violence. It'll perhaps be several years before Iraq is safe for tourists - even those wearing uniforms and flak jackets. The imprisonment of Cheney/Bush is the ONLY thing I can see that would relieve the rage, if only by just a little bit.

14. The only way out of this is impeachment followed by a trial
with suspension of all duties first thing on the plate. get them by the short hairs and not turn loose until the truth is known and once the truth comes out, katy bar the door because there is going to be some pissed off people and not only in America but all over the world. the chickens are returning to roost

him or to do something, but again, we are dealing with a madman who is out of control, it's going come down to a very serious question our own survival or I am reading into things too much.

21. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to rain on your thread.
It's just that it's painfully clear Bush won't be impeached, let alone dragged in front of the Hague or shamed before the world in some kind of war crimes tribunal. Thinking it possible is just pure fantasy, and I doubt such a thing would be good for America anyway.

Like it or not (and barring some unforseen revelation), we're stuck with this administration for two more years, and I guess it just makes more sense to me to look beyond that and prepare for '08.

Peace to you, as well. :)

We had a chance during Watergate, but we failed. We had a chance during the Iran and Contra scandals, but we failed. We have a chance now, but we will fail -- unless we can get around the Pelosis.
