George H.W. Bush’s odd Eulogy for Gerald R. Ford
Randi Rodes mentioned this on her show today.

Meanwhile, Gerald Ford’s funeral was held today in Washington. Oddly, Papa Bush used the occasion to slap down JFK assignation theories. And last week we learned posthumously that Ford opposed the Bush/Cheney oil war in Iraq

Why even mention it?

After a deluded gunman assassinated President Kennedy, our nation turned to Gerald Ford and a select handful of others to make sense of that madness. And the conspiracy theorists can say what they will, but the Warren Commission report will always have the final definitive say on this tragic matter. Why? Because Jerry Ford put his name on it and Jerry Ford’s word was always good.

I have never really researched the JFK assignation, but this makes me want to more than ever.

10. Yes, but why even mention "conspiracy theorists"?
I can understand Ford getting credit for his part in the Warren Commission, but why did Bush find it necessary to use this particular national forum to turn the public's attention back to the "lone gunman" theory?

3. It was strange.
When he started the sentence, I thought 'What?' what the hell is that about?

Very strange but then the entire funeral spectacle has been strange since they left St. Margaret's in Palm Desert

12. Struck me as a self-serving reference
Up until today's eulogy I was willing to give Poppy Bush the benefit of the doubt.

13. He was also self-serving when he talked about being made fun of.
Maybe it's dementia. Whatever it was, his eulogy was inappropriate in several places.

14. Dementia? Maybe a factor, or maybe he fears he will out live the lies
I wonder if they will stop him before he inadvertently implicates himself.

Edited on Tue Jan-02-07 10:17 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I can only assume that they must feel that if they start investigating Shrubbie and his war that the evidence is still around that the investigators are gonna go down a hell of a rabbit hole and end up, or at least pass, JFK's assassination, and nail Poppy in the process.

WOO HOO!!

20. Depends on his involvement
Don't you think?

If JFK was killed by rogue elements withing the political/intelligence/big money environment, then it likely was a pretty big thing to those belonging to that in-crowd. Some might want to see it with their own eyes, and possibly that hit was Bush's 'gig'.
